Hiierarch
Is it easy to break even with mith drags? and should I try it with only 75 defence?

llamster
use the one on tip.it's main page Based on what I've heard about them the guide on Tip.it isn't very good. The best melee weapon to use is a leaf-bladed sword, second best would be the dragon longsword. Ranging is faster than melee but is more expensive. High levels can make profit easily but you'd probably have a tough time. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

I use a whip on slayer tasks there and with a slayer helm and dragon slayer gloves, it's all the accuracy I could possibly need. If I use all four dds specs on the first dragon, I usually won't be able to get a 2nd dds spec on the second mith dragon, so it's plenty fast. I can't talk much for killing them without a slayer task though, bit of a waste of time unless your bored IMO. ilovecardj
I kill almost 2 miths with leaf sword in the time it takes to kill 1 with a whip. ilovecardj
Indeed. Ive used leaf at miths for months now and its definately the best melee weapon to use their. Leaf sword vs whip at miths is like zammy spear vs dscim at waterfiends lol. dont use a whip Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2hSlayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning

compfreak847
I definitely plan on ranging, with 93 range. So, should I try it or no? You'll make money, but it's slow and bad XP. I'd recommend something else, like Avansies, for money. Hiierarch
I'm not necessarily in it for quick money, just the chance at a Dragon Full Helm or a Visage. But do the lesser uncommon drops, like rune and runes add up enough to make it worth camping there? Especially at my low defense level, I only have 75. Thanks so far, by the way. Italian5kamikaze
Woot Leaf, finally people who understand. After spamming it for weeks now Weeks? I thought it was common knowledge that metal dragons were weak to stab attacks. People started using leaf-bladed sword ever since it came out so if anything, you're the one whos barely found this out. :-# I suggest you work on your defense a little more, 93 range is pretty good though. Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.

Would 80 defense be a better option, is there that significant of an increase in defense between 75 or 80? My big concern really is just breaking even with it. Lets_3ekout
Defence level isn't as important as mage level there, because you should be tanking mage no matter what method you use. You should never hunt for visages or DFH, they're just too rare, most people end up burning out and regret ever trying it. If you're ranging it is likely that you will break even. If you pick up their mith bar drops you might make a very small profit. Not worth camping there. Hiierarch
With 85 mage, would they still hit too hard? As it seems, Mith drags aren't a good option for drop hunting eh?
Nel Tu Oderschvank
Unless you are really lucky, then no. They drop 3 mith bars everytime(?) + Dragon bones and in the end i dont think it pays for the potions/food you are going to use. I think I can only kill a max of 3 (haven't really tried with Leaf-blade sword) but it's usually 1 and a half to 2... I did it without supersets though; just the normal type of potions. Didn't buy any of them, made them all myself. Sharks I got them all from treasure trails. Perhaps I haven't killed enough of them to give better opinions but so far it just doesn't feel good enough for me :XD: Range attacks are 'stab' attacks so its alright I guess. Perakp
Personally I range them with diamond and ruby (e) bolts, full inv of monkfish, 9 doses of pray pot and 3 doses of antifire pot, ending up with 6-7 kills = 18-21 mithril bars, 6-7 dragon bones and usually enough blood runes and rune baxes to atleast cover the costs. The charm drops are great. With high prayer levels (80+) I think it'd be possible to kill 2-3 per trip without using prayer potions and only needing food, that would get nice profits but also slow the killing rate. I'd suggest having atleast 90 or 95 range and defence before camping them yak > terrorbird > tortoise > bunyip
