What's the nicest thing you've done for someone?

Featured Replies

Wtf guys seriously talking about which family member you would save in a thread about nicest thing you've done for someone. Sacrificing either of your family members isn't the nicest thing you've done for someone surely lol The other one would be DEAD!

That's the point. Deciding anything isn't pure selflessness because you always seek the best universal outcome from your point of view.

What if you're seeking the best universal outcome for others from your point of view, and don't give a [cabbage] what happens to yourself? If that isn't pure selflessness, then we may as well throw that out of our vocabulary imo. :|

I think the general thought process when deciding whether or not to do something 'nice' is "Will their benefit outweigh my costs?" (because when benefits outweigh costs, things are productive) and there are countless times where people do good deeds without even conciously thinking about it, in those situations that's because it's a no brainer to them (or the cost is so small). There are also plenty of occassions where one will choose to go ahead with whatever it is they were contemplating even if their cost is more than the other's benefit - and while this may be counterproductive as a whole, to that individual they are more concerned with the productivity of those around them.

P.S. (to Goddess) - I thought it was 'sacrifice yourself to save your brother, or sacrifice your brother to save yourself' ... versus picking between two of your siblings (because, to me at least, those are two entirely different things).

May the presents of our lord and savior, Santa, be with you this holiday season!

The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

Nicest thing hmm? Rather difficult to choose, mostly because i've done nothing nice enough that's worth mentioning. Perhaps when I gave away my sandwich to a fat kid who was hungry? But then again that probably made him more obsessed with food.. :|

The Eleventh Commandment:Thou Shalst only say "Amen, brother".

Amen, brudda (referring to the 10th commandment)

Mad lol I'm not even involved in the argument, like I'm interested in being politically correct with him.

Anyway nicest thing I've done for someone recently was helping them raise money for their father's funeral (mum couldn't afford all of it). It wasn't much but meh it's better than nothing.

I found someone's lost cat and gave it back and left when she went to get her purse to reward me.

When I was walking home, a dog ran out of the his/her home and ran to me, so I did a little trick that I do to my dog, I held out my hand like there was something in the middle of the index finger and a thumb and was able to get the coller on its neck and return it.

Also found someone's card at school and gave to a higher offical to give it back(if he didn't have it, he would've gotten a 3 hour detention.

So yeah, nothing really big.

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

It took me 6 hours but I went through everything I owned and Donated everything I did not use to certain families which I knew where having troubles or something. I Rang the doorbell, put the things for that family on the door and left and made sure they answered. I put a note in there that said Merry Early Christmas And it was like July ::'
