meili
I got all my current 99s before the skill cape was out and they are all melee 99s. Frankly, I would only get 99 if 99 was useful. Well, maybe if I *really* enjoyed a certain skill I could get it to 99 just for the sheer pleasure of it but deliberately aiming for 99 for me is purely for the skill effects it has. Ex. 99 str allows you to get the highest hit 85 mining lets you mine the highest level of ore so 99 isn't needed The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
Juhnie
This is like "your total lvl is soo bad for ur cb lvl noob", they have their thoughts about things and they don't want to understand the fact that other people have different kinds of thoughts than they. 3hitm4g3u
There's no need to get any skill capes but if you're lvl 120 with untrimmed fletching cape you can safely expect to receive some abuse wherever you go.
Poopingman
I'm almost to my first 99, and I really don't care. I get bashed by idiots all the time because of my level and lack of a skill cape. Laikrob
First of all; I enjoy my skill capes, and I have enjoyed getting most of them. Some of them I spent more time in IRC or chatting with friends, or even watching tv while getting, but I still like them. That said, I don't give a carp if anyone have them or not, regardless of their combat level (which by the way is the most useless indicator of anything but combat skills). I get more impressed by someone with the highest Chompy Hunting hat, gold CW armour or things that are more rare because they doesn't give exp to get. I also value nice, friendly and polite people a lot more than any level in a RuneScape skill. Maybe except for Slayer. :anxious: You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
D Jay99
I would still have all stats 88 or lower if I didn't like farming that much. Skillcapes are overrated in my opinion.
Returnofmic
116 combat, and no skillcape, my highest skill being 90 attack. I'd rather get all melee 99's before attack. Plus, mai obbeh cape lookz gud. 138 Combat as of Summer 2010 - Retired Summer 2010
Piccy
honestly, I got my first 99 at 115 cb, and I only did it because I fell in love with the skill itself. I lost count of the times I got called "noob" for not having a 99. I admit that anyone has the option to choose between to level up to a 99 or level up slowly and steadily all skills (or the skills of his/her choice) :ugeek: Thanks to Vey for the hawt siggie <
purewcnub
I play to have fun, not to grind a skill all day. Why not have a 99? I don't want to waste weeks of actual in game play just to get a cape... Goals: 94 magic94 ranged55 slayerAddy gloves-done
Chained_life
I think, that you are, a noob. Maybe they're too lazy to do quests/want an untrimmed hp cape \
Socrates
I'm not sure what sort of 'discussion' this is really, as I've read the topic not one person has said that high levels should have a 99 cape to 'fulfill' their duty. This duty fulfilling seems like an answer someone spewed out when they said that people higher [than themselves with their cooking and fletching capes] without a 99 were noobs. When asked why they said they have a duty? I don't know, I got a little side tracked and am not really making a great deal of sense anymore. I've never heard this 'duty' buisness before but if someone has said it genuinely.. I pity them. This is somewhat like the other thread about the 99 cape being nooby: people just don't seem able to gather the fact that people do what they want on this game. End of. There's nothing you or anyone should be doing [well following the rules/respecting others] on this game other than having fun. zotto
It's never enough for some people. The other day someone asked why I was wearing an untrimmed defense skill cape. uh...because I only have one 99?
RangingRoy
The only skills I can see myself getting 99 in is range and hp, as well as maybe fletching. I like range, just because it's my favourite way to fight, and my character is called Ranging Roy, it's the only one I can ever see myself really getting a 99 in. I'm 89, and use it for everything basically. I - as of right now - am not searching for 99, but I imagine if I get to 94-5 training normally, I'll probably make the push for 99. Coincidently, I'm not an RPer at ALL, but I have a strange inclination to really raise the stats that would line up with the idea of a ranger. Range, HP, Agility, Fletching, WC and Firemaking. No idea why.
Danqazmlp
Well back when pc was mainstream you'd see people with maxed melee and no skills, or very high melee and practically no other skills, and it was rather frowned upon, but nowdays it doesen't matter too much imo.
