Recently I have been listening to a lot of concept music and Rock Operas.

Examples are:

Alice Cooper - Along Came a Spider.

Dream Theatre - Metropolis Pt.2 Scenes of a Memory.

Armour For Sleep - What To Do When You Are Dead.

Basically what are your favourites?

Atm mine are:

Armour For Sleep - What To Do When You Are Dead.

[hide=Story]In this case, the album tells the story of the protagonist's apparent suicide, as well as his journey through the afterlife as a result. As a result of a straining relationship with his significant other (their status was not discussed at any point), he has decided to plunge his vehicle into an unnamed body of water.

The remaining tracks feature moments of personal introspection at the positive and negative aspects of his life, while he quietly stalks around important locations of his past life (such as his girlfriend's home) without disturbing anyone. Analyzing the lyrics of each track, you can see him progress through the Kübler-Ross 5-stage model of grief management as he initially denies his situation, then wishes for a reversal, and finally, accepting his fate.

The album ends with the character finally coming to grips with his decision, and his spirit continues on, having completed his business in this life.[/hide]

Alice Cooper - Along Came A Spider

[hide=Story]Cooper first revealed the album's storyline on his radio show Nights with Alice Cooper and that the theme revolved around a "cool, calm and collected" serial killer named Spider. The police are baffled by the bodies of Spiders victims, which are cocooned in a silk web, and are each missing a leg. Spider's task is to collect eight legs in order to complete the construction of his own spider. However, things get complicated when he falls in love with his eighth victim. The theme of the album, i.e. that of a serial killer/psychopath terrorising female victims, could be said to be revisiting territory explored on 1987's Raise Your Fist and Yell. In addition, the last minute of the album, on the track "I Am The Spider" also makes reference, through a spoken outro by Cooper, to Steven. Steven was a character best-known from 1975's Welcome to My Nightmare - he also resurfaced on the final track of 1991's Hey Stoopid and again on the 1994 concept album The Last Temptation.[/hide]

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium

Does that count?

[hide=Story I guess]Based on a short story by lead singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and sound manipulation artist Jeremy Michael Ward, it is the hour-long tale of Cerpin Taxt, a man who tries to kill himself by overdosing on a mixture of morphine and rat poison. The attempt lands him in a week-long coma during which he experiences visions of humanity and his own psyche. Upon waking, he is dissatisfied with the real world and jumps to his death. The story of Cerpin Taxt is based on the death of El Paso, Texas artist (and Bixler-Zavala's friend) Julio Venegas. - Wikipedia[/hide]

American Idiot, I know it's definitely not the best, but I like Green Day so heh.

Wish You Were Here is probably one of the most beautiful albums ever.

I also like Tommy by The Who.

Quadrophenia is better.

@ The guy asking about Nostradamus - Its A very well done concept album.

Rush-2112

Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon

I don't know if this really counts as an "album", but Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii just blows me away. Especially Echoes. The beauty of the songwriting in that song is just amazing. If you have not watched this movie and you like the Floyd, you absolutely have to see it.

Well it kind of depends. This isn't Painkiller or British Steel, this is mostly early Judas Priest. If you don't mind singing and many melodic songs, then you might like it.

Bath and Leaving Your Body Map are meant to be listened to back-to-back. The lyrics are rather ambiguous but there's definitely some kind of "opposite connection" between the two, i.e., one being lighter and one being heavier and darker.

And I don't think DSotM is actually a concept album, but it is sacrilege to listen to it out of its intended order in my opnion.
