nah, it wont kill me obviously i dont really like godswords anyways(my experiances with bgs and sgs for staking werent that good :cry:). glad for a try with zgs though maybe ags. wouldnt say no to dclaws either lol. :o im using a regen bracelet, whip rune defender, str ammy, and ss for duelling atm maybe ill switch to a pair of barrows gloves when i have more qp. only 58 atm. :wall:

The "best" godsword depends on the situation.

 

 

 

ZGS = Best in multi/sara boss (Freezes them)

 

SGS = Best in monster hunting (Heals you)

 

AGS = Best damage dealer (anywhere)

 

BGS = Best where defense lowering would help (least useless really since you can just restore)

AGS = hilt goes better with armadyl

 

ZGS = better for CW

 

BGS = cooler looking animation

 

SGS = better for PVP, better for PVM, better for boss hunting, better for Sara GWD

I do believe this thread is based on the specials of the godswords and my opinion as is follows,

 

 

 

Saradomin Special, because I slay more than I do anything else.

 

Armadyl Special, just for that one time in castlewars I koed the flag holder and felt special. :mrgreen:

 

Bandos Special, because I don't duel enough that the drain means anything to me.

 

And Zamorak Special in last, because generally when a freeze is necessary I'll have one with me.

Duel tournaments, fight pits, I think that's what compfreak is talking about.

 

At those places most people dont use food, or cant (no food duel).

I have the BGS one thing no one has said is it makes killing Sardomin and Zammy durring clue scrolls super easy. The spec never fails(maybe once or twice) and hits high, makes the rest of the fight a quick 2 or 3 hit job. Most of the time they arnt even able to poison me.

try piety and super att on a low def monster like clue wizards, epic win

except that the difference between even 90-99 is amazing, and at 76 its not surprising that your specs suck. when i use a bgs i hit probably 9/10 times in duel arena. a little less in pvp though, because they are more likely to have def potted/sara brewed

 

 

 

you cant expect to get far with 76 at all. you can only just weild the damn thing, let alone use it effectively

i roll around in pvp with ags and i have quite low attack and str and i have an amazing time and hit up to 68 as my best so far, which is more than enough with vengance and recoils to ko people. I love melee and im glad i have left being a tank ags is pure win i also use my sgs for slayer but usualy lend it to freinds.

I have to agree with that. With a low attack level the godswords aren't really accurate. I'm 97 attack myself at the moment, and I've got a SGS. I love the spec because it heals me and restores prayer, and usualy use it for slayer for the special. However I have whip+defender/obby shield in invent to fight, and sgs for the special kept in invent.

 

 

 

I'd say Saradomin is best for me, but another gs could be better for you. I just like the SGS spec best, that's why I spent 72m to get one. I've also had a BGS before, but didn't really like that. But when I had that, my attack wasn't as good as it is now though. Also been using a friend's ZGS lately, liked the special, but that was only for Castle Wars. The free barage is pretty cool, but not very useful when trying to hunt monsters for exp or for slayer.

 

I've lent an AGS before, and didn't really like it because the special was a bit poor imo. It didn't have the hits I expected it to have, so that was a pity, but ah well, I think that people who PK and PVP a lot like it. But I'm not really into PKing. That's just my thoughts on this. :

Even in Slayer, with a +15% attack bonus with the mask/helm, godswords still have the potential to outright miss. Pietying as you swing helps a lot, if you consider toggling like that fair (and given you don't have the extra defense bonus while it's off, wouldn't it?). It just depends on what you're doing. Naturally, SGS is very effective for Slayer, although a BGS works well if defense/health aren't much of an issue. In PVP, AGS or even a BGS can work well, one for KOing and one to try and turn the tide in your favor.

Honestly, having owned all 4 and the dfs/whip bandos combo up's and downs=

 

 

 

BGS up's cheap you can hit your 50's with your special and if you like gwd this is a good gs. downs special bar bye bye.

 

 

 

ZGS up's SARA really fun pretty cheap. Downs at boss monster's beside's sara it's bad .... can get team mate's hit hard and special can be done more effectivly with mage.

 

 

 

SGS Up's Slayer, tanking, mini games, that ever so annoying sara item at gwd . Down's Pretty expensive not best for pvp.

 

 

 

AGS Up's PVP, fun and 60+ Down's L3nd m3 AGS Pl0xz0rz? Expensive.

 

 

 

Dfs Whip Up's fast exp, good defense, use for anything Dfs special. Down's can get kinda boring, pvBoss doesn't get "valued" as mush as a gs'er.

I was referring to the general accuracy of the godswords in general, not just specials. It is interesting to know that the mask's bonuses have no effect during specials though. While I have noticed less-than-expected hits before, I have never read about it anywhere. For example, that explains stabbing 43 with a DDS, but never hitting above 41 on a special, when it's stated to do even more damage.

From memory, both bandos and zammorak fail xat speccing becuas eof the ammount of special energy they consume. I remember teh sgs beign 50%, zgs being 60%, bgs being 100% and ags being 25% (though I expect I am mistaken about the ags, that would be ludicrusly powerful).
