January 25, 200917 yr I haven't played this game in ages, and I had nothing to do this weekend. So I decided to go on a nostalgia trip and buy all the old F2P armor I thought was so cool back when I started playing. That was definitely the funnest time in the game. I remember the butt loads of people outside World 1 Varrock Bank. And it wasn't official but everyone knew where to sell everything, and it was like organized chaos. Then you had the scammers you'd just sigh at and facepalm, wondering if they've even gotten anything the entire day. And you'd be super happy if you made even like a 10k profit off of a sale. I remember when some guy traded his Guthix plate for my Rune (g) plate, I was so happy because it was worth like 100k more. But it still took like an hour to sell it. And what was also fun was trying to get the coolest looking outfit to go along with my black or addy (g). And when I was so proud of myself finally getting a full set of addy (g), and walking around being proud of myself, lol. I loved looking at the prices of all the rares, and hoping by some crazy chance I could eventually get one. Looking at the Grand Exchange now makes me hate the new RS. It feels like that's what ruined it all. And all of Jagex's stupid updates. Now World 1 is just like 20 people all standing next to the grand exchange selling items nobody wants. But anyways, on with the armor: *granny voice* Back in the day trimmed armor actually MEANT something. You dam youngsters [/bads]

January 26, 200917 yr Yeah, I remember selling my santa for full addy (g) and 1k yew logs a few weeks after buying it with 4k iron ore and full rune. It took me 2 years to get that santa back.
January 26, 200917 yr The gold o'l days indeed. I'll never forget that first set of black (g) that I worked so hard for. And the hours spent in world 1, I still remember every spot for everything. Does it really matter whether I was right? #-oThis is Tipit. There is nothing more important than being right. Common sense is nothing more than a deposit of prejudices laid down in the mind before you reach eighteen.

You dam youngsters Best quote of 2008. It 2009, and the best quote is in my siggy. On toppic: I suppose w1 and 2 grand exchange are a sad replicas of the glory that falador and varrok were. Does anyone know why falador became the place for members and varrok the place for ftp? Does it really matter whether I was right? #-oThis is Tipit. There is nothing more important than being right. Does anyone know why falador became the place for members and varrok the place for ftp? I'm aware of that. ;) I said 2008 because that was the year where all the rs veterans and the kids got in a fight over the game... none of that skiller vs. pker bs, it was just little kids and teenagers bickering on and on. 2009 just started, and nobody knows what it's going to bring. Oh and a brief story of how w1 started: WAAAY back then, there were very few powerful merchants, and they all knew eachother because of that. One day they decided to make a spot where they could sell their partyhats and such, all in one group, and they chose Falador park. Eventually they attracted other merchants, whom sold not only rares, but armor, weapons, and food, and soon the whole park was filled with merchants (and scammers) making dozens of trades each day and screaming at the top of their lungs. And thus w1 was born. In my opinion W1 is one of the greatest player achievements in runescape.
