So I've been playing runescape for a number of years now on and off. I've recently returned to the game once again and I'm looking to improve on my overall combat levels specifically STR. My current stats are 73 ATK - 76 STR- 70 DEF -74 HIT. I want to raise my STR and ATK up to 80+. Now the time I'm willing to do but my biggest concern is what should I train on? I'm looking for a fast and productive method to train these skills to my desired goal. So with that being said any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

SLAYER SUCKS HANDS DOWN.

No it does not.

Train your combat stats with slayer, you'll be glad you did in the long run.

+1

Slayer has the benefit of a 15% boost to your Attack and Strength (with Mask/Helm), which is an incredible benefit for training combat. The points system also yields a steady income, plus the high end drops from the high level slayer creatures.

Well yes and no...

If you like variety and don't mind having to work a little for it then slayer is great. If you want to just get the level and not care about getting there then there are other options, as you're only about 90 cb I take it you don't have much money so therefore you don't have it to spend on better ways to train. But I don't know since you never stated if you want money or if you have it.

I am essentially doing the exact same thing as you ::'

So I did smoking kills quest so i could access the slayer rewards, and I'm doing a combination of Spiders in the Stronghold and Slayer Tasks.....and I'm finding it quite fun :)

Add me if you got any other questions or just wanna have a chat lol 100+ jellies can get quite boring.....

And good luck with your goals

Get 65 slayer, that's all you really do need until like 115 combat; and even then, defence is quite needed.

I do recommend 75 defence though. It's only 5 levels, and it gives you the ability to wear all non PvP(fail) armour.

Slayer isnt really good at all, people only tell you to level it because:

1. They're probably slayer geeks

or 2. They actually think in your runescape future it will come in handy, which it will. Especially 73+ (?)

So only do it if you care about then, it is another skill and it isnt mandatory, but if you enjoy it sure.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Painfully true. If you want fast str xp, don't slay. Go for Armored zombies or rock crabs or even experiments. If you believe you'll want high slayer one day, then might as well train combat through slayer, but your goal of 90 str will be reached a bit later.

Slayer doesn't stink. Anyways, he was asking for ways of raising combat, not silly comments.

I agree slayer is always fun and a great way to gain combat levels and to make some money at the same time. Or you can always go to Stronghold like other people suggested, there are plenty of profitable things to kill there.

As stated, do spiders in the SoS, then do Defender of Varrock and kill Armoured Zombies with a salve amulet (e). Slayer is terrible xp, but I would get it to 55 for broad bolts. Training it beyond that is pointless unless you want to do a quest that needs it.

Stronghold of Security in the middle of Barbarian village.

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.
