Well, I was thinking I would keep going until I got a Holy Elixir. One person (who wrote a guide on the Wraith, forgot his name) got one in about 1k kills. I might even get enough plank drops for ~70 construction. I have 7k till 62 construction, I have 240 planks banked, and I'm still going.

So, do you think I could get it in a reasonable amount of time? I've already killed a few hundred, at least, and I only started yesterday. And once I get one, should I keep it and get a blessed spirit shield for my own use, or should I sell it (it's worth neary a third of my bank...)?

Also, what does the monk charge to attach the elixir?

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

The monk will charge 1mil for the task of using the elixir on the shield according to Zybez.

I think it all comes down to luck. You might be fortunate to get it in 1k kills, or it could take you 5k.

Either way, be prepared for a long haul.

Oh. Then I'll see if I can find someone who would be willing to do a Spirit Shield+Elixir/Blessed Shield trade.

Well aware of that ::'

It's actually kind of fun, yet profitable. Also very afkable.

And while we're talking-

I'm still wanting an answer to whether or not a blessed spirt shield would be worth it, or if I should sell it in favor of better equipment.

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

it's unsellable so you are better off trying to sell the elixer

Wait, so the shield doesn't sell but the elixir does?

But is the shield worth using for myself?

Player 1: Got it after 200+ kills

Player 2: Got it after 200+ kills as well

Me: Got it at kill number 940

Player 3: got it at 600+ kills

Drop rate is 1 in 700/1000.

Blessed spirit shield: One of top best shield for avansies tanking/and armadyl boss hunting. As for using spiritshield+holy elixir ...it can't be assisted but i am sure someone can help you (I can if u want).

How to get a holy elixir+spirit shield=Blessed spirit shield if you don't got prayer level for it: Helper buys elixir+spirit shield, makes it blessed and sells it back to one being helped.

I don't think so, I'd say sell. But how good are these shields anyways...

Looks at these stats of Dragon sq shield+Blessed spirit shield.

Armadyl Boss Room (Analyze of monsters and their attack style):

Kree'arra: Magic+Ranged+Melee(Very rare) attack tyle. You pray ranged, so range is out. Magic attacks is taken...

Wingman Skree: Magic attack style. You pray ranged at Armadyl boss, so magic is taken.

Flight Killisa: Melee attack style. You pray ranged,so melee damage is taken.

Flockleader Geerin: Ranged attack style. You pray ranged, so no ranged damage is taken.

So at Armadyl boss what's best defenses to focus on? Melee and magical defense. Blessed spirit shield has that. It's not better than DFS, but it's worth the price. It's better than Dragon sq (melee defense wise even), and has +3 prayer bonus and no negative effect on range attack bonus.

It's good shield to use at Armadyl in other words. :) Hope you understood my point.

Ah yes, I see your point. Still, the blessed ones are so expensive. :?

I don't think so, I'd say sell. But how good are these shields anyways...

Well, my current outfit is-

Torag's Top and Legs

Barrows Gloves

Fury Amulet

Dragon Boots

Rune Defender

Quest Point Cape

Netz Helm

Abbysal Whip

So, that's pretty much the optimal outfit, short of getting crazy expensive Bandos... I know I could improve with Fire Cape, and Verac's bottom.

Blessed shield, I would suppose, is good for range tanking, as SirMemen said; it doesn't have any attack negatives, as most shields have. It even has very good defence, with its total bonuses outranked only by the insaney high-priced Sigil Shields or a out-of-my-price-range DFS. Ranging is already my highest combat stat, outranking even my HP. Noticing that, whilst kiling Wraith's, I decided to get it at least over 90, and quite probably 99 (and with no [bleep]ing crunch training). The money from selling, however, could net me an armydal helmet, or a robin+darkbow+karil's top and bottom.

But I think I've settled on keeping it. I'll probably be training range in soul wars. The extra defence would help a ton, and there's simply the aspect of it being so rare. Armydal helm, anyway, is only a few more bonuses, not enough for to be willing to buy it.

Oh, and I don't hunt Kree'arra.

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

Which is way I'm kilign Wraiths for it #-o

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

DFS has +20 defnse more in stab, slash and range def more than blessed spirit shield. Let's look at price of shields:

Blessed spirit shield: 5.0M medium price. Has +3 prayer and 0 negative bonus more than DFS

DFS: 17.3M and +20 def more in stab, slash and range.

BSS is worth its price id say.

P.S the shield is also great choice at Bandos if your not tanking, and Zamorak boss. That is if you are ranging.

Right now I'm getting SC hammers to use up the 320 oak planks from my latest trip (58-63 construction just from plank drops), so I'm taking a break. (EDIT: Disconnected first game, less than minute in. Only for a few seconds, even. Gf Jagex...)

I don't do GWD...

But I might, after I get 90 ranging.

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

It still helps for most situations involving damage from melee monsters when ranging.

Aware of that.

Thanks for the insight, it's been helpful.

Just got 64 construction, by the way ^_^

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

Congratulations. As for BSS, majority of Runescape don't have idea how good shield it is. Atleast for ranging \'

1 bonus everyone seems to forget: 1 kg!

So it's the ultimate lighweight (runecraft) shield! greatly worth the time! + as said it's a good shield if you're ranging/maging! (though mostly I use the zammy book instead)

Then they came to the yews

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Wow i did not realize how junky the shield was besides the crush defense bonuses. Other than that what other purpose does it serve?

I read every post in this thread... :wall: Even though it it light and has no negative bonuses why is it good for anything besides GWD (if dfs still isnt the better choice here)?

Price, 5m for the BSS vs. 17m for a DFS
