Ok..I am against flaming..but in this case I must. Shiva..from what I seen so far from your posts..your an *hole..I'm sorry. THE GUY SAID HE HIT A 25 EVEN THOUGH HIS VICTIM HAD PROTECT FROM MELEE ON...your response...."That proves nothing, you could have hit those even if he wasn't praying."..son..*. Of course he could hit those if he wasn't praying..are you sure you even read his post right? But anyway..the point is that he hit a 25 even though a guy had protect from melee...

However, in the wilderness and the dueling arena, the protection prayers work differently. Instead of 100% protection, they protect you 50%, while raising the amount of times you block your opponent's attack. They are a great advantage, and can save your life in tight spots.

 

 

 

Protection prayers do NOT cut the damage your opponent can inflict upon you by half. On the contrary, they cut the chance of your opponent hitting you. Someone with 99 strength and Full dharok can hit 80s on you even if you have Protection from Melee.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The fact that n64jive and xreemox have seen high hits with Verac's set is irrelevant. Until proven otherwise by Jagex, I am going to keep claiming (and rightly) that Verac does not hit through Prayer.

don't read to far into what jagex says all the time, sometimes the game differ's a bit in what they say. also send a querry to jagex, in fact send it 5 times, u'll get a different response every time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

why instead of always listening to jagex, listen to the people that have tried this out know how it works like the back of their hand.

i was gonna say the same rofl. Most ppl pk in teams now. Verac is a waste castle pking and deep wildy ur have a team of 99 str w/ whips or ancient mages. Ur get owned easily. Plus you have more to lose than them. It comes down to they kill u once, they get like 8mil. You have to kill them 40 times to make that back. Statistically ur lose alot of gp.

I only read a few posts, but to me it seemed as if it was spoken by someone who has never actually tried PKing in it. Sure, its pretty good, but particuarly if you are low level, you woudnt want to be out in the wildy in it. A decent mager or ranger could own you.

You are correct on that I never pkd with Full Verac..lol i'm rich, but not rich enough to be reckless with items like that:(. The scenario I talked about was a melee vs melee...not magic or range. Getting owned in the wild by magic in the wilderness is self explanitory. Verac does own rangers though if you use protect from range(someone call me a prayer noob again even though this is just an example=\...) and you will own them since they can't use entangle or ice spells (hopefully) unless they are a hybrid pker..in which they use more than one style of pking. Those types of pkers always own..until teamed on.

im not too sure about the whole hitting through prayer thing :? i aint tried pkin in it yet , but i have hit 32 through kq second form (doesnt mean much i hit it 34 though prayer with whip :shock: )

Well, i hate to tell you... but a big majority of PKers at mage bank or any other place worth pking use more than 1 method of pking. So verac isn't a great option unless you can afford to loose it or you are with a big team.

on topic: what is the best mage def bonus possible with verac set effect still working? must be able to get +30?ish , i noticed the restrictions on verac wernt bad eaither , about -21 mage with full set :D
