An Idea

Featured Replies

First off, I don't really know much about clans. But I have an idea, and I'd like to see if there would be anyone interested in it.

Normally (or from what I can tell from clan war videos), basic clans are a bunch of unorganized spamming, shouting, and attacking. I think it would be kind of interesting to have a clan that's very organized, like an actual army. We could have certain tactics, and missions, etc. The clan chat would be like "Sniper Unit 1 Stand Down". It probably sounds stupid, but it's still in the works. So, is it a potential idea, or is it hopeless?

Corruption is definitely not just unorganised spamming and mass-attacking.

We use teamspeak to organise everybody on the same pile, with set orders of fall in leaders who choose targets and keep the clan together.

We have seperate rooms on teamspeak, but often a shared clan chat, for our sniper unit and our main pile, which allows effective pile choices while still keeping the groups co-ordinated well.

Not sure where you got the idea that clans aren't organised lol.

Actually, that spamming indicates where the pile is. It also creates an overwhelming atmosphere for the other clan. As Enzock also said above, there's teamspeaks and ventrilos set up to make it even more organized. ;)

I know what you mean, and where you get your idea, but basically due to obvious restrictions in the game it isn't possible to have organization like that, nor would it be effective. What you see as random running around and spamming is actually very good organization in most cases.

I would gain some experience with clans before presuming to start making changes on issues you don't understand and in general along with the above replies show you're merely demonstrating a high level of ignorance.

With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.

As Y guy have said, it is almost impossible for a runescape clan to achieve the strictness of an army, but alot of the clans have come darn close.

Also I don't know what kind of clan wars video are you watching, but there are many many tactics involved when two clans clash. Maybe you are watching the people in world 141 then yes they are very disorganized, but when two professional clans war, what you may see as disorganization may be the best tactic there is due to your lack of experience in clan warring.

Actually the clan world is over organized (in my opinion). It's rare to see a smaller clan without TS or Vent anymore and large clan tactics are becoming more and more popular for the smaller clans. I am of course talking about "fansite/offsite" clans though. Most RSOF clans are like you mentioned.

One clan immediately comes to mind, not naming anything though.

But yes, spamming indicates where the pile is. In a big fight you spam so others can see the opponent whilst also listening to their fall in leader's commands on a voice chat such as vent or TS. There are some videos out there which also include a TS narration in it.

You might've also heard the infamous "VESSEBLE ON EAST GATE VESSEBLE VESSEBLE VESSEBLE" which does sound chaotic but at the time I'm more than sure that all the members knew exactly who to attack.

If you're interested in joining a clan that is very good in organisation I'd suggest you try the following:

DI

DF

Corr

TT

TRWF

Gladz

Not gonna name ours as it would be bias. :D

And guys, don't bait him for bringing it up, it's our duty and joy to educate those younglings who wish to learn from clans.

lol, it's kinda hard to believe you are being for real. Is this an ironic topic and what you are really doing is critizing how strick and army-like clans have become?

I doubt that, It seems innocent enough, I don't think he knows much about clans.

this is runescape, a game during the medieval times, not COD.

Being organized depends on the clan officials on how they want a clan to be. You don't have to be in one of the top clans of RS to be in an organized clan, it just depends how the clan works.

You cant criticize someone for trying to learn...The bottom line as to why clans just cant achieve that kind of orginization is that there is no significant accountability. If you fall out from a pile at the very very worst you get kicked from the clan, and tbh that doesnt even begin to compare to the kind of consequences of disobeying orders irl.

Pretty much this. Also the game itself has limitations that irl doesn't.
