Seasonal Runescape Urges

Featured Replies

Hello, many of you may not remember me, since I have been off the Runescape scene for almost a year now. But, just recently I've been hit with what I like to call the "Seasonal Return". What is it you might ask? Well, every spring, for the last 5 or so years, I would have a huge urge to come back and play Runescape, but after fall hits, I would have already quit.

So my question is: has anyone else here experienced any sort of seasonal urges or am I just weird like that?

Sorry if this is the wrong section, I haven't been on this site in ages >_>;

And no, I've never heard of anything like this.

HOLY HELL!!!!!!

I was just going to make a post in the Coming Back sticky about how I am wanting to come back, yet I know I'll want to stop once school starts again!

I know 100% exactly what you mean.

Same...I just started playing again about 10 days ago after a 6-8 month break.

No idea why, but it happens

I don't really consider mine "seasonal."

On rare occasions (like recently) I just wanted to start playing again because I'm bored and have nothing else to do with my free time.

Even worse is that I have too much free time recently since the place I physically work at is closed for the next 6 or more months.

I'm hoping my boss will let me work at her shopping complex doing something next month... but until then, I have the urge to play RS to kill time.

The same thing happens to me! I play MapleStory during the winter, and play RuneScape from early spring-early fall.

After a while of playing i'll get bored/distracted if I dont have a goal to get to so i'll stop for a while but sooner or later i'll always get the urge to renew my subscription and play, especially if i log on in the f2p and realize how much i can't do in the game without mems

I've been to the Crunch once...

Ive quit RuneScape multiple times, but Ive usually come on every week or so to check updates.

But I do come back, reasons being my friends are playing again, or Im bored/quit of something else I did when I quit RS.

I agree with you. I have been away for quite a while - maybe 2 years or so. Got the urge though yesterday & ended up resubscribing. Have to see what I can remember about the game & how much has changed.

I have a friend who does the same, but i dont think its really season related, just kinda random.

Big thanks to Stevepole for the signature!^

No, I haven't heard of what you've experienced, but you sound like the classic RS player: one who plays the game in phases and then stops and comes back again. I have had those moments.

It's always the same for me.

I'll usually comeback to Runesape at March-April and play up until October and then quit. Then the whole routine starts all over again.

Break the Walls down!

I play by quantity of new content, particularly quests. I got the quest cape, but I take breaks months at a time to let new stuff pile up. Then I renew for a month or two and try everything new. Last quest I did was Summer's End (I didn't do the F2P ones. I got lazy for Swept Away and I wanted to get 80 wc before I did Myths of the White Lands).

Unforunately for me, I get the most enjoyment out of RuneScape when there is great weather outside, mostly in Summer

Thanks to Killerwat for the sig!

Well, my membership ran out on New Year, and I haven't gotten it back yet. I plan to in the summer, when my whole life just slows down, but it depends on my money supply and everything else. I'll get it for 3 - 6 months, and we'll see what happens.

Btw, f2p SUCKS.
