March 30, 200917 yr The Norton Anti-Virus is always being bashed because it doesn't destroy all viruses. I use Norton, and it has protected me from many deadly viruses, my computer has never been infected. So, what's wrong with it?
March 30, 200917 yr I don't know what's wrong with Norton but this should go in the computers and tech forum. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
March 30, 200917 yr Doesn't the live update cause the blue screen of death? It uses up a lot of memory and slows down the computer and sometimes it fails to remove threats. ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢
March 30, 200917 yr It's a good product, but quite highly priced. The fact is, in the last test in autumn at av-comparatives, it scored very good in every test. And they have trimmed it quite alot (09 version), as that has been the main beef from users. J'adore aussi le sexe et les snuff moviesJe trouve que ce sont des purs moments de vieJe ne me reconnais plus dans les gensJe suis juste un cas désespérantEt comme personne ne viendra me réclamerJe terminerai comme un objet retrouvé

March 30, 200917 yr Newer versions are better but you could still do a lot better. The main problem is it sucks up computer resources, there are many more lightweight AVs that offer comparable detection without being such a hog. Detection wise it's ok, but it does miss things. One of things that Norton has always accelled at though is it's speed. Afaik, it's one of the fastest AVs available in terms of scan speeds and such. Also, bear in mind it's a big name product which costs money. Since there are a few good free AVs out there, why bother paying? "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
March 30, 200917 yr LiveUpdate takes forever (so does scanning, last time I did it it took at least a whole day... on an XP) but does not cause BSoD even on Win2000. Hogs a ton of space and slows boot times by at least twenty seconds... Otherwise a quite good AV. sig by Soa.....tip.it times.....art & mediadeviantart/flickr/last.fm/steam/twitter/tumblr/youtube
March 30, 200917 yr My dad's computer used Norton for two years and paid the price. Norton sucked up liked 60% CPU power regularly, not to mention can't remove viruses to save it's life. That computer literally now has a twenty minute start up time (from log in to account till being able to function normaly).
