Is blackjack the game where you have to get 21?

What's the name of the one where you go around in a circle putting down cards that are the same sign or number but if you put down 2, you pick up 2 and if you put down a black jack, you pick up 5 (yet it can be cancelled with a red jack). Oh, and the 8's make you miss a turn and the queens makes you go the other way round. Someone told me that it was called blackjack and I've been falsely calling it that for years.

Shoot, I remember playing that in middle school. It's definitely not blackjack... crazy-eights?

Ooh, another game, that one where you are dealt seven cards and you have to match three cards and four cards up. They match either if they are all the same number or if they go up in one, two, three's respectively. We've been calling that one 'Jin' for some reason.

'cause that's the name. Gin Rummy.

Government's a good game too. As well as Egyptian Ratscrew. And Euchre. And Hearts.

God this brings me back. You could lock me up in a room with a deck and someone who plays cards for ten years and we'd be more than fine :D .

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

3 royal flushes in my poker career.

First was with play money on partpoker when I was starting to play and I didn't get paid off.

The second was at the casino v quad aces and I made a few grand there.

Third time was again at the casino and my opponent open-mucked top 2 pair and he said something along the lines of me being a donk for raising over the top as a bluff :uhh:

Card games can be great. Big Two is a favorite in my youth group, being Asian and all.

Anyway. I was on a car for like three hours today, I spent a good deal of it playing Hold 'Em on my Zune. I suck more than I thought. :P

Yeah, Big 2 is very popular.

Apparently there is 1 in 625000 chance of having a royal flush.

Gin Rummy is so addictive.

I played with someone at camp that got a royal flush on the flop in Texas Hold 'Em, everyone folded because he was stupid and went all in. I was the one who shuffled and dealt so I knew he wasn't cheating.

that quad aces vs royal flush is so sick :D a once in 3 lifetimes experience =P~

About gin rummy, I'm gonna do a search on the rules, cuz it sounds like a fun game.

reminds me of the movie Richie Rich, the scene where his butler is arrested and thrown in jail with some madass I'm-gonna-hit-you-with-a-stick-kinda guy, playing cards. Butler goes 'Gin.' and IMGHYWAS-kinda guy freaks out :D Lov--Ly

I've played alot on Facebook Poker :D Had a couple of good hands on there - none better than quads though

Me and a few friends sometimes play a bit too, this one time i picked up a straight flush (still remember what it was hehe. 4 5 6 7 8 of hearts) when there was 5 of us playing.

We don't play cash games though, at the beginning of the night everyone puts £5 in the pot, and then we play with toy poker chips. Then last one out takes home all the money.

Obviously i won the hand, and knocked 2 of my friends out in the same hand (one of them had a pair of 6s  , and the other one had an ace high flush)

...And the bad thing is, i still didn't win that night :XD:

I play all the time on FullTilt and with friends for money, yet I've never had a royal flush. Had a couple of straight flushes, but no royal yet.

lol i installed the facebook app and got to 30k today

I kid you not right, FIRST HAND i played on facebook poker, I got KcJc in MP2 right, it goes:

*** PREFLOP ***

UTG: Call 1BB

UTG+1: Call 1BB

MP1: Call 1BB

MP2: Raise 9BB (3xBB standard raise + 2xBB for each limper)

HJ: Fold

CO: Call 9BB

BTN: Call 9BB

SB: Raise 9BB

BB: Call 17BB

UTG: Call 17BB

UTG+1: Call 17BB

MP1: Fold

MP2: Call 9BB

CO: Call 9BB

BTN: Call 9BB

*** FLOP *** [Ac Qc Td] (so I have floped the nut-straight w/ royal-flush redraw 6-handed; fist pumping basically)

SB: Bet 1BB

BB: Call 1BB

UTG: Raise 1BB

UTG+1 Call 2BB

MP2: Raise 83BB

CO: Raise all-in

BTN: Call

SB: Call

BB: Fold

UTG: Call

UTG+1: Raise all-in

MP1: Fold

MP2: Call (all-in.. don't know what the BB was)

BTN: Fold

SB: Call

*** TURN *** [Ac Qc Td] [9c] (so I have the nut flush now)

*** RIVER *** [Ac Qc Td 9c] [6s]

*** SHOWDOWN ***

SB: As Tc

UTG: JhTh

UTG+1: KsJd

M1: 9s9d

MP2: KcJc

I raked most of the pot (about 450BB roughly) and UTG+1 picked up the rest..

And you have to remember, I iso'd 2 limpers, then got popped by ATo from the SB AFTER my iso was cold-called TWICE.

When I saw those hands my reaction was just "omg.. how can people do that kind of stuff" :uhh:

Right then I wished it was the casion, or online. Would've made like 2 grand or something :(

I've gotten plenty online but only a couple in real life playing. My cousin Sarah is a highly regarded poker player in Adelaide, had a blast going around to all the tournaments with her. She usually finishes in the top 3 or 4, lately walked away with a local $2000.00 prize money. She calls me her good luck charm ::' I'm getting better, come a long way since getting pissed a few years ago wanting to play strip poker and then treating the cards as if I were playing black jack. What a night... Warren's signature sums it up pretty well

Played countless thousands of hands @ MGM in cash tables, never saw a single royal flush, played in a few hands which ended in the opponent's straight flush. The chance is roughly 1 : 500,000 (burned in memory, can't be bothered to check the actual stat) so it's not that surprising.

After a while even four of a kinds get pretty 'routine' despite the low chance, but I'm still waiting to see a royal flush in a live game. Only saw them online where much more hands are played per hour, even had one or two myself (partypoker.com)
