Teen Fashion in the US

I am by no means a suave person, and my family isn't either. Normally I'm not one to give in to peer pressure, but I got to talking and I have no sense of fashion identity. :anxious: :-X

So then she said to look at stuff and see what you like. And i really don't see anything. It's like dress to what you like. I might be having an identity crisis. ;)

In any case any advice on dressing and finding ones Identity :wall:

I normally play sports but due to my scoliosis surgery...

I've never cared for fashion, Nor will I.

But possibly for a job, suit is a must. Other than that. Fashion is pointless and trivial to fight over.

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

I think its a waste to spend hundreds of dollars on clothes. Band tees work for me.

Sales or clearance stuff is really good, too. Most of my clothes are from AE/Aero and I haven't paid more than $10 for a shirt or $20 for pants. It's all about having a good eye. ;) There's also stores like TJ Maxx that get the overstock (or something) and sell brands for cheap.

Any kind will do as long as they have clothes. You have to shop around and find something you like that fits well. Just finding something that fits well and looks good on you can be enough to be fashionable, you just have to be able to shop around. Not everyone can wear the current fashions (ie, skinny jeans), so it's more important what looks good on you not what's the hottest thing.

WTF? How has she never been to Wal-Mart? No matter how materialistic you are you simply can't avoid Wal-Mart unless you live in a rural area!

I go to walmart usually twice a year. Each time I buy 2 black, 2 red, 2 green, 2 grey, and 2 brown shirts and I'm set for atleast 6 months. I have 3 pairs of jeans that I rotate throughout the week. I buy new jeans as needed. Screw fashion when I can buy a years clothing for practically nothing.

If you don't know what you like then just get whatever is comfortable or cheap. If you're intent on looking in the hip though, just get something from hollister. You'll look like a tool, but you'll get the chix.
