Wolfram|alpha is an answer query engine that aims at computizing all the information in the world.

Some examples of what it does are:

-search "steven" and it will give you the popularity of the name(percent), fraction of worlds population with name, and number of people born per year with that name, graph of history of use of that name and tons and tons of more info

-5+5, you get 10, ten and visual representation

-tons more

PS the search engine is slow due to extreme load

Looks quite good, i tried seeing what it would give as an aswer when i put my type of car into it, but its overloaded atm.

I kinda think they need to change the name if they want it to hit real big, a simple small name is really good for these types of things.

"I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that."

That's freaking creepy.

You're called Dave? :D

Hahahaha, no--

Its just that its a reference to the artificial intelligence from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

An artificial intelligence that for some reason becomes ominous and unfriendly is scary to me. I'd like very much not to blow my chances at befriending another form of sentience. Becoming enemies will be... stupid, and counter to the great goal of uniting all intelligence under a common flag.

Ahem. Anyway.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

Aww. It doesn't have anything to say about my name. :(

At least I learned that my city is almost 4,000 feet high, and the same distance from both Ciudad de Juarez and Fort Worth.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I was looking at it yesterday. That search engine is freaking amazing. It's the first that I have considered using sometimes instead of google (excluding specific databases that our school subscribes to).

Found some interesting facts about tipit, apparently, tipit was psychic in predicting the release of runescape...

Tip.It isn't Runescape exclusive #-o

Um....around 90% of the traffic on tip.it is for the non-forums section of the website, and of the forums section i'd say around 20% or less of traffic is for non-runescape discussion.

Facepalming for a point he didn't even convey, and that is incorrect is just stupid.

He (rsloser) means tip.it caters to lotro and other games, and was initialy created for a game other than runescape.

Runescapeloser used a present verb tense, so being the English-speaker I am, I presumed he was talking about the present.

Anyways, I still don't see how his post had anything to do with Dan's post.

(arguing over syntax is dumb, lol)

If I had said, "Tip.It wasn't Runescape exclusive", then it would sound like it is exclusive right now. Which it isn't.

Look at what you just wrote.

No, you are incorrect.

If you had said "Tip.it wasn't Runescape exclusive", then that would mean it wasn't exclusive in the past.

African or european?

As for rsloser and Pio, you are both right. Pio's statement was correct but it requires clarification that rsloser's had.

Oh, I like this. It's like Wikipedia, but just gives you straight facts. That could potentially make it far more useful.

Ooh, post 2500!

Yeah, saw this over a week ago and then again a few days ago when it was on Digg. That is probably why the traffic is so high.

Haven't found a time when I needed to use it yet, but a few sample searches looked interesting.
