crucifyed4us
Alright so I have like 2 hours between classes and I need some nifty single player games for my laptop to occupy my time. Here are the specs on my comp: P4 M- 1.6ghz Mobile Intel 915GM 128 meg card 512 MB of ram Windows XP So the trouble I'm having is finding a sort of "Top 10 low-end games" I have lots of emulators and roms and such, but that holds my attention only so long. Right now I have: Sim City 4 Empire Earth 2 GTA 2 as you can see I've only found RTS games that have real good replay value. I wanted *maybe* an FPS, but def something other than RTS. Well thanks in advance if you can give me some suggestions.
Nadril
Just currious, you have a wireless card / can acess the internet on it then? anyways, here's my list. First is if you can play online, 2nd no. online: 1. Half life 2. Baulders Gate 2 (amazing roll playing game) 3. Counter-strike/firearms/ect. Half life online mods 4. Age of Empires 2 5. Diablo 2 : LOD 6. Guild wars (again, if you have internet , which is this one, this game can run on a lot of pc's) 7. Icewind dale 1/2. 8. Perhaps some SNES roms using an emulator on your laptop :) 9. Warcraft III? Dunno 10. doom II / Ultimate Doom 8) Offline: all the same, but no cs (unless you have bots) and no guild wars. :D :D

If you're looking for a FPS with low requirements...Definately check out Serious Sam: The First Encounter. Just look at these reviews: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/serioussamthefirstencounter/index.html?q=serious+sam http://pc.ign.com/articles/165/165156p1.html http://archive.gamespy.com/reviews/march01/samiam/index2.shtm It's not much in the way of story...Graphics are a bit aged, but its insanely action-packed, really fun, and asuming you can find it in store, I doubt it will cost more than 5$...That is, if you can find a copy... Also, there's Deus Ex...An amazing FPS/RPG hybrid...A classic...One of the greatest PC games of all time in the eyes of many critics and players alike. It's a few years old - your specs are ample. (BTW - give it a few levels to get going if you do in fact get it) There's plenty of other games...It really depends on your taste

Hannibal
http://icculus.org/neverball/ Freeware, and it's a great amount of fun. It does require that your card does OpenGL, but I'd think this should run without too much trouble on your laptop. As for the game itself, it's somwhat inspired by the game Monkeyball (I think that's what it's called?), originally a game for the gamecube :). blazer
Most definitely check out Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (and it's two quite nice addon packs). It is simply an amazing game that's a FPS RPG (S stands for sworder, not shooter ;)), released in 2002 so it should run on your machine. I was hooked on it for about 12 weeks straight and it won game of the year.
How2PK
Not really what you are looking for, but here are two games that are absolutely amazing. One of them is on-line only and one is off-line only. Off-line game: DX-Ball On-line: Continuum Have fun! :) Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! crucifyed4us
Wow, thanks for all the response guys, keep it coming. I have played quite a bit of what was said. And some things I have to say are: Morrowind: Surely the most indepth and original RPGs? I've been watching Obvlivion since it was announced. Civ 3: I love that game, I had Civ 2 for PS1 classic. Serious Sam: I hate that game, lol :-P thanks for helping though :D Yeah, I have wireless but most of the connections I can dig up aren't extremely fast so I don't really feel like online games. Mr_Putter
Serious Sam: I hate that game, lol :-P thanks for helping though :D Heh, how could you hate such a super-fantastic game? The main reason I mentioned was cuz I'm currently playing it...So it was the first game that came to mind...Not the best game ever but it can be fun :). And I just remembered...Max Payne 1/2 is very very good games...And GTA3+Vice City should be able to run on those specs...They are some of the best games ever (San Andreas might very well be the best game I've ever played...)
