September 10, 200520 yr Will carpentry actually be about furinature??? Could it be about carpets or something like that, jagex has been know to use slight of hand before. The chances are it will be using wood but... well you never know what they are planning next. PS. I am happy to buy any logs that you are now throwing away  . Just thinking I wouldnt put it past jagex to do this Oh and 100 days(approx) at most untill houses http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
September 11, 200520 yr Will carpentry actually be about furinature??? Nope, there'll be other things, tables, chairs, wooden spoons, wooden shields, wooden toys, wooden horses...a whole range of things.
September 11, 200520 yr carpentry should come out quite soon, as zezima should be getting 99 farming soon, definately before 100 days, and i dont think jagex will let somebody have all 99's for over a month, just my oppinion though :)
September 11, 200520 yr Author zezima is not the number 1 player. no one has all 99 and its 99 days till the end of the year. And it will be out by then http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
September 12, 200520 yr That would be "carpetry" ... LOL! It was an innocent little "n" that changed the carpeter into a carpenter. lpinkus
September 12, 200520 yr zezima is not the number 1 player. no one has all 99 and its 99 days till the end of the year. And it will be out by then Might not be the best player as far as exp goes, but, last time I check, he's the number 1 player on the highscores list. Anyways...yeah. I'm not really sure how excited I'll be about carpentry (or, carpetry for that matter) but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. If it introduces something useful, I'll like it. If it's just a ploy of Jagex to appease all the "PoH's, pl0x!1!" noobs by introducing useless houses...well...let's just say I'll be "less than satisfied." It has potential, i admit...but lets face it. Jagex hasn't always given every update or skill the creativity and ingenuity it deserves. September 14, 200520 yr I personally am in Carpentry. It's my trade for the Technical High School I go to. I'd be interested to see what Jagex may want to do with the skill Carpentry. I know you've heard it a thousand times before, but Jagex should make THIS skill F2P Based and P2P based. Why? Carpentry can be a very usefull skill for crafting, fishing, smithing, and much more. Take in example. You could make hammer, with a new chisle head option for smithing. The chisle head if its i.e: Rune. Could perhaps make when you go to smith a Steel Plate, it give more xp. It's a better tool, and harder to use. It'd be a major bummer to all those level three's who rely upon their level three power smithers. Or for fishing. You could create yourself planks, and the pieces from the bow, skeleton, and stern of the boat. Then use crafting to put them together. The boats can be used as if walking only on water, to designated Fishing spot, just like on docks but only in the ocean. Using crafting you can put the boat pieces together, the higher the crafting the bigger the boat and it's storage capacity for fish. Lets say you have a small row boat. It hold a capacity of 15 fish, not including all your inventory can hold. Then lets say you build a Caravan Boat/Merchant Boat. Inventory of 30 fish. It'd be a cute little addition. It's just a skill with MANY possibilitys that Jagex should REALLY tap into. Ps. I have no problem with people posting this idea on boards if they like it. Just give me some credit. I'm not an Rs Member, so if anyone thinks it has a unique flare and might interest Jagex as it has me and many of my peers then go ahead. :)
September 14, 200520 yr I personally am in Carpentry. It's my trade for the Technical High School I go to. I'd be interested to see what Jagex may want to do with the skill Carpentry. I'm an avid fisherman, and the fishing in Runescape is not nearly as fun since I know it to be in real life. So, I can't imagine why you'd want to see how RS carpentry compares. That's not a knock against you or JAGeX or anyone, it's just that any RS skill is, obviously, watered down. Trust me, you won't be measuring wood or adjusting torque if carpentry comes out :) I'm also a music teacher by trade, so I don't want to see a music skill in RS, either :) lpinkus
September 14, 200520 yr Unlike Carpentry though; music is not useful. ( In Runescape' that is ) I quite frankly <3 music. The point is: Carpentry is a versatile trade, now i'm not trying to knock anyone here. I don't see how you could of interpreted that. I was simply stating that Carpentry can be beneficial to all trades for the most part. =\

September 15, 200520 yr I'd like to see carpentry increase bank space. For instance, if you could make a chest to hold all your runes, that took up one bank slot, but once the chest was open you had access to whatever runes you had. This would reduce the frequency of all those "increased bank space" updates that occure whenever a new skill is introduced. This could work for the different armour types (mage/range/attack), the new farming seed, herbs, the list could be endless. Anyone else think this might be usefull?

That's kinda sad. Anyways, yes, carpentry could be a versatile and beneficial trade in RS. I'm just saying don't expect it to be anywhere near as engaging as real life carpentry. By the way, why have you been capitalizing Carpentry? Man, I never thought I'd type "carpentry" so much in my life! lpinkus
September 21, 200520 yr Author im glad to see you put the effort in http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
September 21, 200520 yr im glad to see you put the effort in Lol. OK, one more time for good measure. "Carpentry." Sorry for the spam. lpinkus
September 22, 200520 yr Author Back to the point, I think. So you mostly all think it will be to do with would not carpets. The option to have carpets is nice though http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
September 23, 200520 yr thatd be weaving or some thing in the crafting skill place your newly crafted carpet would give you experience in your home decoratin skill :) but no adding carpets to your house would rock i really like the castle wars carpets
September 24, 200520 yr Author good point but then again carpentry is about the same as fletching as shown when you make a lyre. Carpetry is the way forward. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
September 25, 200520 yr A rather wierd way to start off a post about carpentry. (Carpetry?!?!) That was a good idea Ishbar had about the fishing boats. It would be extremely useful in fishing, *note--I'm lazy*, except how would ye get the extra fish off the boat after the trip. Carry nets, made from crafting, each holding 5 fish? Unfortunately, RS carpentry might never be that complicated, so we can only hope. However if it begins with making furniture, JAGeX will also have to create uses for them. Ever notice how tables and chairs are useless? The only thing I can think of that links (well maybe not links) with how RS is now is player-built houses with cabinets to store things in. Hopefully other people can think of more things. Abutebaris modo subjunctivo denuo.
September 25, 200520 yr Errr. . . Maybe I'm not paying enough attention to this post. Ye seem to have said that carpetry is the subject. Hehe. . . Missed that. That would probably go under crafting, though that skill is already quite full. Perhaps put under "spinning" in crafting or just listed under a new heading of "weaving". Carpets and window shades for ye new house built with the other "carpentry." Don't know what else ye might make with weaving. Abutebaris modo subjunctivo denuo.
September 26, 200520 yr Author carpentry they better get righ or im killing some one. Carpetry Is most likely under crafting, using the loom Or they will be bought from alkrid http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
September 29, 200520 yr have i missed something? it seems to be a dead cert amung peeps that carpentry is going to be released. but i also thought it was a dead cert that player owned houses were NOT gonna be released, along with horseback riding and summoning. so the carpenting of tables and chairs seems a lil obselete. unless those crafty jagexers have something up their sleeves.
