June 27, 200917 yr Van Halen and MJ have both spoken about him doing the solo. Provide a source for what you've said and your argument may look slightly more credible. And how do you 'know' this? Were you there whilst it was being recorded...? Edit: Plus, why would anybody let Van Halen take credit? Surely they'd lose out on A LOT of money. I'm afraid I can't provide a source, you have to take my word. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

June 28, 200917 yr Yeah, I don't really believe in internet reputations. I pay attention to what is being said more than I care about who is saying it.
June 28, 200917 yr No matter what you may think about Michael Jackson and the controversy that has surrounded him throughout the last several years of his life, the man was a musical genius and I don't think that anyone will ever be able to do what he has done to the world of music.

June 28, 200917 yr Should have died ten years ago, pre-"child" drama... He would have been immortalized like John Lennon and Frank Sinatra, and only remembered for the greatest moments, unlike Elvis and MJ, who both had their downfall, and I hate to say it, lived too long... June 28, 200917 yr Call me a romantic, But! HE DIED BEFORE MIDDLE AGE, so he will always be young. My pure's stats: str:70attc:35def:4range:72mage:70hp:70
June 28, 200917 yr Van Halen PLAYED THE GUITAR PART ON BEAT IT! No, he didn't. Rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen, lead guitarist of hard rock band Van Halen, was then drafted in to add a guitar solo. Upon being telephoned by Jones, requesting that the guitarist participate on the track, Van Halen thought he was receiving a prank call. Having established that the call was genuine, Van Halen recorded his guitar solo free of any charge. He's free. That what I basically heard, Quincy Jones! July 7, 200917 yr some1 cried? I'd think so, since 12 people have killed themselves over it. It didn't hit me that he was actually gone until a few days ago when I watched some clips on youtube. Definitely choked up a little. I had forgotten what a brilliant entertainer he really was (definitely one of the best we've ever had) and I don't think any other artist has released anywhere near the same amount of classics as him - well, except maybe Beatles. I used to be a huge Michael Jackson fan when I was little. "Heal the World" was the first song ever that I genuinely liked (first song I recorded onto tape as well) at age 3 or 4. I was a huge fan up until Blood on the Dance Floor, after that he just kinda disappeared so I slowly lost interest. If he had died 10 years ago, I'd probably have wept like a little girl.
