So my friend got pulled over while I was in the car. He was being an idiot and was doing 90 in a 65 with 5 people in the car including himself. He is 17 so he is only allowed 1 friend in the car. Long story short he got pulled over used a pba card but he still got two tickets for speeding and breaking his provisional license.

A pba is a card issued by a Patrolman's Benevolent Association.

 

In plain terms, it means you're friends with a cop and are

 

entitled to a break now and then.

I find the PBA card completely stupid and i would of given him tickets as well. He was being stupid driving 90 with others in the car in the first place, he deserves it. The only reason I could see them as ok would be for maybe a reserve police officer, or someone who actually contributes to the local police department with their time, services, or equipment, not money. They are non-exsistant here in South Carolina.

I had a feeling the wording would give the wrong impression there.. I meant that it should apply equally, sorry. Obviously it doesn't.

There are probably reasons why they made it that I am unaware of, but there's one thing I can say: It's probably too late to use one of these when you're in the hospital.

I'm friends with like 3 cops and I've never even heard of this. I either get one, or they should be completely abolished. They're completely unfair - no one is above the law.

They're called FOP cards or Friend of Police cards here.

 

 

 

My ex's dad was a cop and I used to have one, but we broke up and he took it back , it did get me out of a couple speeding tickets though :thumbup:
