September 22, 200520 yr Went down to California recently during the Katrina incident. Gas prices were steady at 3.79 down there  I'm used to that.. it's amazing what prices others pay compared to us. :( ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
September 22, 200520 yr In Barrie, Ontario it hit $2.40CA/litre. That's $9.10/gallon (Canadian funds, which are getting closer and closer to the American funds...)

September 22, 200520 yr Maybe the oil companies have started to realise that their oil reserves are running out so they're trying to maximise their profit while they still can :P . The bottleneck is in the refining process right now, not the oil supply. Ugh, Labor Day weekend when we went out on the Hudson in our boat, we could only go about 2000 RPM tops (about 15 knots in our boat), because of the DARN GAS PRICES!!! 4 bucks for a stinkin' gallon in Central New York, not what it used to be! In my old home town, theres an old Citgo Gas Station sigh that was left over from a '97 flood, it says $1.27/gallon!!! Lol my cousin (that lives there), actually said soneone asked him where the Citgo was this summer...It was so hilarious when he told me!
September 23, 200520 yr WHAT!? 400$... I wish theyd give that to us Quebequers. Drats, I could have really used that 400 right now. When will we start using hidrogine? (I know it's spelled Dihydrogene in french...)

September 24, 200520 yr its because of the tyrant oil companies, it costs them 4$ per barrel to get out of ground, and ship and all that. but they charge like 70$? wtf?
September 24, 200520 yr its because of the tyrant oil companies, it costs them 4$ per barrel to get out of ground, and ship and all that. but they charge like 70$? *?I guess you assume that after that it somehow magically gets to a petrol station and in a refined state? Explains a lot.
September 24, 200520 yr its because of the tyrant oil companies, it costs them 4$ per barrel to get out of ground, and ship and all that. but they charge like 70$? *? Refining+shipping+taxes+price negotiations with gas stations+export tariffs (if drilled outside of the US)+employee wages+equipment= Barely $4 per barrel. They might make good profit, but definitely not in the scale you are assuming. I hope you now realize they don't just drill it and sell it straight away. (And no, they don't store it literally in barrels)
September 24, 200520 yr its because of the tyrant oil companies, it costs them 4$ per barrel to get out of ground, and ship and all that. but they charge like 70$? *? yeah if i was the owner of the oil company i wouldnt want to make money either, id want to give all the oil away for less than what it cost me to drill it, so that it is really cheap and people will use more. that way the oil will run out in 10 years rather than 30, and i wont have to worry about all the money i used to have because i wouldnt have any.
September 30, 200520 yr Author Woah! I never realized how high gas prices were outside of alberta. Here in edmonton today is 96 cents i think :S. Thats a lot for us but super cheap compared to the rest of the world! And yah with the 400$ to me, i'm not complaining at all about this [bleep]e to be honest.
