July 24, 200916 yr I have 500m cash and i have little interest in this game presently, so i'm going to quit indefinitely. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on items that will almost certainly rise over the next few years at a slow rate? Can you think of any items?
July 24, 200916 yr The only items that are sure to rise are discontinued items. Phats, santas, halloween masks, etc. If you are going to invest that 500M, do it only in those items. July 24, 200916 yr Half jug of wine/easter eggs/pumpkins are first priority to buy. Then buy the wearable rares if you please.
July 24, 200916 yr Cash is your only safe investment - but as others have said rares, edible rares are more like to diminish from the game faster than wearable. I woul do what 3r said... Maybe log in each christmas if you decide to stock pile santa hats and sell them then, then buy them again around easter time Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!

Maybe log in each christmas if you decide to stock pile santa hats and sell them then, then buy them again around easter time Cash is not an investment. Holding GP is not smart as it actually devalues (in the real world, holding it in a bank ensures interest payments to make up for inflation... Jagex hasn't addressed that issue yet on RS). If you have 500M now, and still have that 500M in a year; it won't be worth 500M in today's terms due to inflation and other market changes. In other words, that 500M will be worth less (you'll be able to buy less with it) If you are leaving the game for a long period of time, ALWAYS invest in rares... They are THE safest investment. Supply is always dropping for them; demand is rising (as more and more players make more money), and the price rises in the long term. July 24, 200916 yr Edibles are at a crazily high price right now, so I really wouldnt use that as an investment. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
July 24, 200916 yr Author You are right rares are the way to go but whats the chance of me getting my hands on edible rares wtih 12 days of members left?
July 24, 200916 yr Author Oh yeah good point and well made, only 2 slots though, what should i use the 2 slots on then?
July 24, 200916 yr You are right rares are the way to go but whats the chance of me getting my hands on edible rares wtih 12 days of members left? GE price, basically none. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
July 24, 200916 yr I would say no, theyve gone up like crazy recently. Items that [bleep]e up tend to [bleep]e down later. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
July 24, 200916 yr Well this is a hard one to answer. As we all know most items will crash and rise a few times every year no matter what. Even rare items like P-Hats do the same. As we also know all prices are determined by demand and supply and becauese not alot of RS players have the money to buy P-Hats that would be a big NO in my opinion. I would go with items that people actually use. Items that are needed to be the best. Items that are used in everyday skills. You should be looking for something that when bought at max and sold at minimum the loss will still be minimal. Things like Godswords would be a decent choice. I cant really think of any outstanding items but i hope that what i said made you think about your choice. Its not about how much they cost, its about how many are needed. A Prayer update is bound to come out soon. Dragon Bones could be a wise choice. Slayer is also due an update, so Slayer equipment could be wise. Best way to make a choice is to think about possible future updates and buy items that will influence those updates. You are right rares are the way to go but whats the chance of me getting my hands on edible rares wtih 12 days of members left? GE price, basically none. Rares are not the way to go. **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
July 24, 200916 yr ^ Dragon bones is a very wise investment. It might be very risky at their current price though. Back when they were still 2.2k or even 2.5k they would have been much better but if youre serious about investing then you should get your hands on as many of them as you can, and as soon as you can before they rise much more. **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
July 24, 200916 yr Don't invest in monster drops >.< Sure, the price of dragon bones will go up, but they will go back down. If your quitting for more than 6 months, you're guaranteed to make money with rares. As said before, stick with edible rares YouTube

If your quitting for more than 6 months, you're guaranteed to make money with rares. As said before, stick with edible rares But that's you assuming that he can buy them on the G.E. - in my opinion, there is just about zero chance of that: he'd have to buy them at the rather volatile "street" price, and is that worth it? July 24, 200916 yr There are no items which are "guaranteed to rise over the next few years" because noone knows what updates are coming in the next few years. Perhaps new hats will come out which lowers thje demand for party hats. Perhaps really powerful expensive items come out which again diverts attention away from rares. When it comes to cheaper items again it is unknown if any future updates might make them obsolete or unneeded. I disagree with abc1230's statement about being guaranteed to make money with rares. 180 days ago Blue partyhat was about 335m, now its 307m. Who could of predicted such a drop of almost 30m? Dragon bones rose a lot recently probably due to the money coming in from PvP tricking, now this has died down a lot now can we really be sure that they will continue to rise especially as so many lower levels flock to green dragons to sell the bones every day? July 30, 200916 yr Well i spent 250m on 4 mask sets and a santa, still dunno what to do with the rest, probs just keep it as cash. That's probably the best. You could invest the rest (or 100m or so) into half-full wines and Easter eggs (these aren't overly expensive, and are 100% sure to increase in future, due to them being edible, and discontinued)

July 30, 200916 yr What in the world makes some of you think that rares would not be a good idea? Sure, they might be lower in six months, but in three years there is NO way they will be lower than they are now.
