Since when don't abused teenagers fall under child abuse? When you're 17 you're still legally a child.

And quit trying to act like a know-it-all, Sue.

No, you're legally a minor. Sue wasn't being a know-it-all, simply responding to what Sue (and myself) thought was a pretty dumb statement to try and poke holes through a statistic. But I guess we could be wrong, and he was honestly asking.

Quite possibly the most disgusting and deplorable...thing...ever...ugh...dots.

I mean cultural differences sure, but you DON'T do that.

Which is legally the same thing as a child. I don't agree with calling 17-year-old's children either, but when we're dealing with child abuse, that's what they go under. My brother, 16, has Child Protective Services on his [wagon] so it isn't exclusive to people under the age of 10.

The legal definition of "child" generally refers to a minor, otherwise known as a person younger than the age of majority. (wiki)

Looks pretty know-it-all-ish to me. :|

I mean I usually don't care when people do that, but she's making it seem like you're an idiot if you don't know that 10- are children and 14+ are not, even though that's not correct anyways...

Zierro: I thought it was pretty much obvious. I'm not an know-it-all-person.

And I'm not calling anyone an idiot. The age you get to do whatever to your body is 16. But it depends on whatever country of course. Here it is 16 anyway, and most other countries.

Shut up.

I personally think its disguting to even let an eight year old girl be in the position to be 'lured into an empty shed with chewing gum' ... You should never, never let a young child leave your side. The parents have shamed their family, not this poor girl.

Wait, what? When I was 8 I was allowed to leave my house. Hell, I walked to school, sneaked into an apartment building's swimming pool, and rode my bike to the 7-11 around that age. If an 8 year old sees other children around their age offering them gum they're not going to turn down that offer.

What, seriously? Dang, i don't know anyone who was allowed to do that. Then again, England isn't such a friendly neighourhood.

What is wrong with you guys? Anyway letting the child have a little free time won't shame a family. That is around the age when kids start becoming more independent anyway and parents should nurture that desire instead of shunning it. Telling the girl it's her fault after she was forcefully held down and raped, that will shame the family. I mean forget the dog, I bet people would kill the family goldfish for that. Just pure heartlessness that makes me ashamed I am part of the human race.
