jasignhagj
wow Hex, you've gotten more annoying since you 'quit'. We cant even threaten to bomb you, because you have no country. just stick with the fat things, ok. reasearch is going well on our new species. we have managed to 'convert' all the clones into Homo Sapien Aquata (still need a real name). we are now seeing if it passes down through birth properly. Seraphi
Thats....thats not how evolution works.... Also, you survive below that temperature because (I assume) fat reserves insulate you, and you devote a lot of energy to keeping warm. That, or theres a chemical reaction within your body that produces heat.
The Dark Lord
-25 celsius. Different species of Bacteria will not merge together, they will instead try to kill each other. Therefore, 2 properties maximum, unless you have a few million days left to play this game and evolve. We survive under -25 celsius and we're not extremophiles. They mrge by killing and eating eachother, therefore gaining eachothers abilities. Go to http://www.richarddawkins.net and ask if what you're saying is possible. VEGHATERMEATLOVER
I love spore. And yeh, that's basically how bacteria work.Polyextremophile (spelt right) anway, Mather. The_Mather1
No, bacterial evolution does not work like that.It never had worked like that, as far as I'm aware. Some bacteria also transfer genetic material between cells. This can occur in three main ways. Firstly' date=' bacteria can take up exogenous DNA from their environment, in a process called transformation. Genes can also be transferred by the process of transduction, when the integration of a bacteriophage introduces foreign DNA into the chromosome. The third method of gene transfer is bacterial conjugation, where DNA is transferred through direct cell contact. This gene acquisition from other bacteria or the environment is called horizontal gene transfer and may be common under natural conditions.[111'] Gene transfer is particularly important in antibiotic resistance as it allows the rapid transfer of resistance genes between different pathogens. Hex, no need, they split like every few seconds and their cultures(their amount) can double in down to about ten minutes. Wisp
If you make them split faster, they will all mutate and become [developmentally delayed]ed. Literally. In any case, to fight you, I'd send one ship with shield, and run right through you. 15,000+ degrees>Bacteria Hegemony-Spain

Seraphi
200 degrees would work. Besides, even if they can gain more than one property, the main weaknesses are still there. If they are resistant to heat, they're weak to cold, and can still be destroyed by heat over 150 degrees. Same works for cold resistance. If they're resistant to alkali, they're weak to acid. There is no way this can be changed, really. So yeah, basically, I spray salt over your planet and you die.

Seraphi
On a planet without Oxygen, its unlikely your race could live either. This whole discussion still doesn't make it any more likely that bacteria can be intelligent. *Sigh* I do believe I'll have to step in myself and blow Hex up. Leave some for me, will you Rocco? Way to be an idiot. Tungsten can't support that much weight. Nothing their bodies do can stop that. Plus the whole tungsten being a metal would disable them from moving. Also the amount of force the shot gun would put out would shred the weak bonds you would get between bacteria. In response to your metal IT WOULD NOT EXIST period as a metal cools down it's particles slow down and you have a solid from a liquid. So there is no practical way that you could get a metal to remain liquid at room temperature. Also as people have said before you cannot create or destroy energy. The levels of amplification you are talking about would not happen ( ex. 4,000 watts to 8,000 watts just from heat) it would not work.
