You can quote Yes, Prime Minister all you want but it doesn't really change the fact that some of the stuff you've done has been ridiculous.

Obviously I have. I am not an expert by any means. However if three or more people disagree with me, and no one agrees, then I will usually back down. For the most part I am unpleasantly surprised by the lack of response, like me saying I will build a million point space station and no one disagrees for two weeks and then they think that I might have invested some time in it so try to torch it.

For the most part it is ignored until I assert my right to use it.

I mean I could just invent a spreadsheet on a secret project.... Say I started a secret project tomorrow and two months time there was some crisis, but don't worry this was the crisis that my secret project was designed to deal with. And don't worry I have 9 more secret projects designed to deal with every issue there ever will be.

The point is not whether I can run a good empire it is whether I can distinguish between me as a player and what I can get away with, and me as a moderator enforcing the rules and acting reasonably given my lack of information because people refuse to give it to me.

So it boils down to do you want a War Judge or are you happy to scream it out amongst yourselves? And if you want a war judge then you need to furnish him/her with all the data that you think is necessary and accept that if you leave stuff out they will fill in the gaps based on random number generators.

Or you need to tell me how I am supposed to fill in the gaps because, Dusty, what you basically don't get is that I am a moderator here to help you play your game because I was asked to help you play your game. If you are going to make my job harder by not telling me anything then I am not going to scurry around begging for scraps of information so you can power trip on denying the 'hired help' of all the tools they require, I will random number generate the results and you can deal with the fallout.

Given the flexibility of the system, given the fact that I am willing to sacrifice hours of my life to make your life slightly more enjoyable(and if not yours then at least some of the people here), I don't think me asking you for your fleet size, which you should already have...so basically I am asking you to spent a minute copying and pasting some figures over....is extensively complicated.

And if you have a problem with that then tell me and help me resolve that problems....

You know what I feel like, I feel like a guy who is being told that he is being sued for ordaining to ask someone if they want help carrying their shopping. That I am being put up on trial for asking people if there is anything I can do for them....That I am generally being punished for being exploited. By all means treat me the same as everyone else, argue with me, but don't try to make my life more difficult.

I told you the size of my fleet, then you proceeded to say that since you hadn't "confirmed" it, it doesn't actually exist. Then you went into a big ol' sarcasm sharade saying that you created 50m ships.

I think the main problem I have is that you're the moderator for the game - the person who decides the outcome of battles and the progression of the game, and you're a player.

And about New Russia...Is it fair that you get a system which no one else can see? Its not unreasonable to ask for details on it.

I've PM'd Doom the details on it so that she could update the front page at least half a dozen times in the past 4 or so months.

I was in the NWO; we all had nukes.

I thought it was only me, Sere, Ross, and Grim that had nukes?

Ah right. I see. I meant that since a sizable chunk had been blown up over Earth....and Doom has such a massive fleet...that comparatively no one had a fleet.

the person who decides the outcome of battles and the progression of the game, and you're a player.

 But I like playing

Sigh. Fine.

With the crisis escalating Winthrope decides there is nothing else for it and unveils the Strange Matter Gateway. The Gateway is a combination of the laser transferance tech and the gravity lensing tech...basically I am gonna fire my civilisation(or to be more specific, Adrigas) into the depths of Space. For sentimental reasons some people wish to stay behind and these people have joined the civs most able to protect them.

The Iomru colony and second fleet goes to Kirby.

Iomru contains one Quark Fusion Reactor and light construction materials(can produce stations and ships, so 300PP)

Eos Colony and third fleet goes to Ross.

Pretty much all the point values which were layed out before are the same if you want them.

Netio Colony and 6th fleet goes to Dusty, if he wants it, otherwise it goes to Retech in payment of debts.

Yena and 4th fleet goes to Doom, if she wants it, otherwise goes to Retech in payment of debts.

Fifth fleet goes to RPG

First fleet and the gravity lens equipt Caravel goes to Sere

Seventh fleet goes to Retech(unless s/he took one or both planets in which case it goes to Ross)

Home fleet is going with me.

Summery:

Empire is dismembered. Adrigas is disappeared.

If I ever want to come back I will.

If anyone is unhappy with that then stuff it because I am being 'forced' to give up my empire.

PS the ships are derelict(they were sent out under AI control...yeah I am making that up but I am moderator so it is alright.) so unless you crew them yourselves they are just gonna sit there.

I've PM'd Doom the details on it so that she could update the front page at least half a dozen times in the past 4 or so months.

Doom/Dusty can you please PM me the co-ordinance of the new system and EVERYONE can you send me everything you think is relevant, if you don't send it it doesn't exist(Though I am tolerant, for some bizzare reason so usually you can get away with minor things not being reported.)

Rules come into force in 3 days.

Urk-Orz attack Sunday(I think), probably after 5 pm GMT.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Thanks Archi for everything you've done. I may sound presumptious, but thanks in advance!

Also, I think you'll still have fun wiping out more than half of civilization with the alien invasion. Probaly none of the players, but some of our systems. Dusty, can you please send some ships to help me? Sinabo has plenty of defences, but since Archi left, I'm shorthanded. :)

Nah I will still be here, just not as a player.

I do think it is unfair that I am doing both.

See now you're going to get everyone mad at me (madder than they already are I suppose :D).

But, hey. You can be like the Androsynth.

Annoying how I disappeared and yet Grim discovered the Orz...

Alright, I guess I'll take Yena and the 4th fleet. I'm calculating how much PP I'm getting from Norway's building stuff in Tefarn now.

The Caravel design is noted, documented and stored, and then the caravels are dismantled for more matter to use.

Battleship production is in full scale again. Currently producing 7 Cataclysm ships, 1 Hyperion ship and 2 Hephaestus class ships per year. The ships will stay there until I decide how many ships my fleets will consist of.

I am going to take over the quark fusion and strange matter research in Archi's place (I'd much appreciate if you still helped me with this in PM, since, although I understand physics better than a normal person of my age, this strange matter stuff is waaay beyond me). Eos is still locked down, and anything nearby will be blown up.

Nanites are being developed for other tasks now, ETA is 10 years.

For the record, I have 20 Styx Platforms in Sega-Res, in free orbits around the star itself, and 2500 Helios orbs surrounding each Orojike, Zypherius and Brittanniae. Eos has 15 Styx platforms, and 3000 Helios orbs around its main planet (Which I do not know the name of)

I have 160 Harvesters, 150 transports, and 130 Chronos harvesters (The ones which eat everything). I have 41 production stations, 5 of which are in Eos. All of my Chronos are in Sega-Res, the harvesters location can stay undocumented, as they move around too much, and the transports are basically flying between Sega-Res and Eos.

There we go, lotsa details.

Seeing as the fleet near Alpha Centauri is as follows:

50 Escorts (=2500 points)

3 Ultra Heavy=(62500 points)

6 Super Heavy (122500 points)

17 Heavy Battleships (139500 points)

50 Battleships (144500 points)

10000 Fighters (244500 points)

is 244,500 points total, where as 1000 battleships is 100k total points I think I should be able to defend.

So as a reminder, my ships are all having heavy turrets installed all over the interior, to defend against boarding crews.

What are the actual classes?

Heavy, Super, Ultra I believe.

Can someone give me a link to the original ship point value post or restate it?

Here are my fleet stats as of Sunday(without Archi's vessels; Not sure whether Doom is taking a fleet or not)

Super Battleships: 2

Heavy Battleships: 15

Battleships: 75

Fighters: ~1000

There is also a space station. I was going to classify it as a battlestation, but its main purpose is to refuel ships which have come from the planet surface. I thought about making it that one which repairs ships, but the battlestation has lots of defences (compared to just a repair station). What do you think Archi?

Also, I'm going to say that my defences on the ground, which are being designed to target things in orbital space, have a point value of 100,000 total (only 1/4th can be fighting at a time for a small fleet, 1/2 for a large one). They can also only fire when ships are close to orbital space.

I think the point system needs revamping somewhat, since I am kind of at a loss with the whole modifer thing(its more complicated than ground battles...)

I am leaning back towards the modules=points idea, anyone have a view?

(Modules=Points would mean you could design your own ships and they would be worth X amount to build and Y amount in combat.)

Oh wow, battleships are worth next to nothing. Alright well, I guess that sorta messes up my PP. I have enough to produce like...200 battleships a year. Yes, I think I'll do that.

My work here is done

That would work I suppose. It seems to me that the warp drive is a big ticket item for the ship, so if I figured that I wanted a ship that just floats around in orbit, I should be able to make it far cheaper than a warp drive ship.

I think its more about which modules are you using rather than where they are. I support that idea, if it came out alright.
