Troll has been around at least since the usenet days of the 80s, which is more that most of the people here have been alive.

But dude, you started a rant about no updates this week. From your last post, you're basically complaining about what MIGHT happen in the future. And that's just silly.

No, I complained about their being a no update week like 3 weeks ago. And like that week, next week's update will probably suck. That's what I'm talking about now. The original topic was just about another no update week after such gruelling updates that had before it.

Okay, let's put you in charge of Jagex, have you release weekly updates, then we'll [bleep] when they are buggy.

Jagex are trying their best, with limited resources, and frankly, I don't mind no update weeks, because another bug could be found. Jagex are not alone in releasing buggy content. Even larger game studios release buggy content. Bethesda for example, but damn, at least Jagex attempt to fix the bugs.

Bauke, how many time do I have to tell you? I hate WoW. It's dull. Runescape is better, despite issues I take with the management.

And no, I don't want to run Jagex. Just because I can't do something better than someone doesn't mean I can't find fault in their actions and/or have a difference in opinion on how they run the company.

*Again* I don't mind a week without an update, if only they were followed by something good. So far this year, after no update weeks, we're still getting crap. That's the issue I take. I don't want weekly updates. I want good updates. I'm tired of the filler crap along with no update weeks. The no update is only half the problem. If you're gonna give us crap, give it every week.

Then agauin, they're Jagex. They're perfect. I know how badly you guys would love to marry Jagex and have their children. Only problem is that no state will allow you to marry Jagex.

Maybe California...

Okay, you realise the behind the main update, minor tweaks happen, right?

Even a minor tweak to an item's code can cause bugs. The updates haven't been that bad in my opinion, sure, they could have been better, but on the whole, they've been pretty good since I came back into the game in May.

I'd rather have crap every second week, than rushed, buggy crap every week.

Anyway, I'll go further on why I believe Jagex is doing a good job.

I mentioned Bethesda, as any PS3 owner who has Oblivion should know, there is the Vampire glitch. Bethesda are making no attempt to fix it, and in order for us to cure our Vamprism, after turning into one, we may have to switch our console's language to German. Along with freezing glitches and such, I've actually had an entire save bugged. Now for Fallout 3, I can't find Ol' Painless anywhere, I think there's an item loss glitch, along with the usual freeze glitches.

Now, for Rockstar, there is a bug I've encountered, I cannot obtain the "Fly the Co-op" trophy, despite multiple, on time, attempts, I should have got it first time, along with a guy I know and someone he knows (they both obtained it). Actually, I had one where I couldn't get trophies at all, even though it said I should be able to.

Okay, so regarding bugs, I believe Jagex is doing well enough, since they get fixed fairly quickly, compared to these much larger game studios, where I still have problems.

Trust me, I understand the nature with bugs. I do think that the amount of update wrecking bugs is getting too commonplace when compared to RS past. This is very likely to the amount of code that is in one massive jumble that needs to be straightened out.

As I've said in more than a few posts around these forums, I think Runescape is going to need to be taken offline for a few months, or be reverted to f2p only to completely rework the codes and fix them. The game needs fixing, not upgrades.

You think this is going to stop? They have become considerably lazy and bring out less and less updates every week, that no one asked for or uses anyway.

Even after the Upgrayed year, who thinks they are gonna stop? They just need to make Mechscape the next big thing, then for Runescape they need the ammount of new members > the ammount of members quitting to make them money.

If this keeps happening theres going to be no point playing..

Currently - Slaying to 99!

Yes well I haven't hit the point of no playing yet. That's a pretty extreme thing for me. It's really just hit the point that I'm not paying them until things pick up.

Now if by my birthday of 2010, which is in mid may, when I turn 25, if things haven't improved by then, I will move on.

Honestly this has been a year of disappointing updates - there's stuff we've been waiting on for quite a while that beats the heck out of a year of upgrades! How about another GMQ, or seeing whats through that frozen door in the godwars dungeon?? Bet whatever is behind that door is way more interesting than yet another new novice quest...

This year sucks recently. A ton of unnecessary PVP updates that would have been prevented had jagex thought of a WORKING PVP SYSTEM first. A lack of good quests, not much new content, it's honestly been pretty disappointing. Hear me out, Jagex. Pick up where you left off with the great updates or I unsubscribe on my birthday next year aswell. I'm not paying for half baked crap.

Eh, I've actually hit that point. Just started college, so whatever freetime I have left is invested in TF2 or a bit of WoW. Mostly TF2. I come to the forums and the site to keep an eye out for any major changes.
If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

I've just gotten back into Runescape, doing Slayer. Summer of closed beta testing on various MMOs.

Really? Sounds pretty cool. Is the entire thing closed, or could you maybe say what MMOs you tested?

free post count.

no but seriously give them respect they try to get you good updates, sometimes its not good somtimes it is, they fixed up bh worlds amazingly, no more wuss safers in the non 1 item worlds (theyre are still brave safers though)

I have lived my life to the best of my ability, but I have not been able to escape fate, anger, or pain.

But, in the process, they screwed slayers and monster hunters over followed by everything else in the economy.

Well, a variety of high end monster drops were on the old table. Dragon Full Helms, Dragon Fire Shields, Whips, and so on. Many of these items were not used in combat so the result was a net increase. Often at a much higher rate than equivalent monsters. I believe that many high end drops from slayer monsters were included, though I could be wrong.

They were taken out.
Well, yes, and that's what messed up the rest of the economy. Even though it's been mostly fixed, the lingering effects remain.

By lingering effects do you mean the initial price depression from when they were released as PvP drops or the rampant inflation that came from the trade-PvP-artifacts-in-for-cash update? OH wait, you probably meant both! You can't tell me this mess is an inprovement over the old wilderness!

But back on topic, yeah. We are in desperate need of a legit update. Not a novice quest. Not a graphical improvement with a couple of bug squashes, but a full sized, big, beefy update.

This summer? I was testing the closed and open betas of; Champions Online, Fallen Earth, Global Agenda, Aion (Nothing special), Dungeons and Dragons Online, and Crimecraft.

Something of a busy summer, considering I have 2 jobs with the prospects of a third upcoming, not to mention I'm taking 5 college classes (Communications and Media Arts. Omali on the radio? More likely that you'd think. Politics and stuff, yes?), work on two websites, and fleshing out a fiction book.

Putting too much on my plate? Maybe.

Being twenty-four, summer means nothing to me as far as playing online games.

If anything, Jagex seriously dropped the ball in the respect that even if during an Upgrade year, they should have had something really good for the summer for the kids to play, as this is definitely the high point of their year as far as play time.

But this summer was a very skint three months. A couple of quests, and MA.

If there was ever a time they should've had something, it should've been during the summer months. (June, July, August)

That's an excellent point. I hadn't thought about the summer in particular but once you point that out I'm quite surprised that they didn't do just that.

Wed. September 02, 2009 Update:

-Dragon Claw spec reduced to 33%

-New Item Added : Lightsaber. Special attack "The Force": Instant 100 Damage.

-Graphical Update of Bronze Daggers

-G.E logs everyone in the vicinity out due to untested bugs with the Lightsaber.

-Old Wildy reintroduced, 1/5 chance of getting party hat as a drop.

-All monsters are given 5hp to make the game easier, it's just too challenging.

-All players start with level 99 now to remove anyone who thought it was too difficult to get 99 runecrafting and slayer.

-Attack and Defence removed, due to it being for "att narbs & def noobs'.

/SARCASM.

Thanks for the FunOrb tip Jafex, I HAD NO IDEA HOW AMAZING THAT SITE WAS.
