sloter
I personally like how everything is setup with it. It does hog resources though for a media player.
Jernlov
Winamp is okay. I use foobar2000 though, for pretty much the same reasons sloter said about Winamp. The 'sort by folder' library view foobar has is really useful. Steam | Soup | Last.fm
ElkNight
Songbird is the best though. I have never used Winamp, but WMP is slow and annoying. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! aspokaspofkjsopfkapo
Raarrggggg don't take my media monkey. It's got the same merits as winamp, songbird and foobar and it has a controler(?) that sits in the taskbar. Also foobar2000 doesn't support mp3 players(to my knowledge). Songbird. I never really liked winamp that much. Songbird is sort of like a lightweight iTunes, which is cool. Addon support (just like firefox) is really nice too. I've been using songbird a while now and it's great. "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move." Guest
You must try AIMP2, one of the best players i used. Fast, good quallity, have much options (converter etc.). Handy minibar if minimalized. Also here is a review before you trying it. :geek: http://blogs.howtogeek.com/mysticgeek/2008/09/01/geek-reviews-music-player-aimp-2/
Sbrideau
Songbird looks too much like Itunes to me (I hate Itunes, and not because it's mac, it's for another reason). Anyway I still use Windows Media player, fits all my needs (after I put the klite codec pack for videos) while not bottlenecking any other programs I might be using at the same time. I like the way it sorts albums too when we go to the library (although it takes a lot of space).
Shiny
I am really too lazy to change my media player, and rechange all my 5000 songs or so. Just a hassle. Though if I did, I would definitely go for songbird, based on what I have heard.

Nadril
Do you not have your songs organized in a folder or something? When I switched to songbird I just added in my music folder. Only problem I could see is if you had a bunch of duplicates or something.

I got [bleep]ed up a little because of the duplicates, I copied my music folder from my external hard drive so I have 2x of some songs, gets kind annoying deleting them. But I would have to do that anywhere. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! Alal_Pwn
Use Exaile, it's fastest I've seen but only comes on Linux... If you like shelling out a bankload for a license to run Vista try buying an iPod. It's right around your price range anyways. I hear even the small ones play video now. Cool I guess, just tape it to your monitor and you can watch video for about 5-10 minutes while playing RuneScape. It would be longer but you will have to charge it and wait 10 minutes for that annoying splash screen to pop up before doing nothing because it's always in the #1 spot of the queue to your CPU. After a brief, 5-hour charge time you can watch another You-Tube video before repeating the process. Or you could get Linux for free, your choice. Proud owner of RECON. YES MLG FTFW! will eventually get my recon avvy, deal with it.
Sbrideau
Alal_Pwn, refering to the posts you have made in tech and computers recently, I will just add that Linux is not all there is. If people like windows most, they go for windows, if people like apple more, they go for an apple computer. It's all preference.
easonadam
Loving songbird so far. Any recommended add-ons for it? Found a handy one to get rid of duplicate tracks. Is there one that turns it into a mini player on the task bar ala WMP when minimised?

But anyway, I use WMP on Windows 7, which is (so far) excellent, the miniplayer is pretty nice. I have an iPod though so I use iTunes for all my music files, and WMP for all videos. It's an old iPod so no vids in iTunes, which really isn't that big of a deal (who wants to watch a 3" movie anyway...?). iTunes would be great if it didn't eat RAM like I eat cake... I've never used many alternative media players, I'm sure they're great, it's just I'm satisfied with installing a codec package in WMP. Actually with the new additions to the codecs in Windows 7, you don't need the more common ones, just specific ones if you do video editing and want to playback or something. OldJoe
I use Winamp. Used to use Windows media player, but it doesn't recognise my 5.1 system so i switched. Works fine for me.
