Well I recently moved to an area of London known as harrow...

I'm bored a lot lol... playing rs to keep me busy.

I'm wondering, for all you uk residents, is there anything to do here?

In your spare time what do you do?

Is there anything special i should do since I now live here?

I am 16 years of age if you're wondering.

and umm yes.. I AM AN AMERICAN.

Are you from America? Because you should definitely make your accent as ridiculously far from an English one as possible. One rule to follow with girls in high school (oh wait, is high school still until you're eighteen in England? I forget your schoolish ways): they love accents. You could have an evil villain accent (mustache and all!) and they'd love you for it.

Believe me. I've done it.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

If you opt for the evil villain accent, make sure you also grow a long thin mustache that you can twirl when you talk.

I suggest if you go to Highschool there you start making friends and or Join a sports team. Great way to meet people...

Visit some of the places around London like:

The London Eye

Big Ben

Houses of Parliament

The Science Museum in Kensington (can't remember what it is called).

Try to stay out of the rougher areas of London because chavs/so called 'gangstas' will take anything and everything the wrong way - a funny look is a sign of disrespect to some.

What's all this crap abaout accents? Americans have accents you know. :wall:

Yeah. =/

And it's Secondary school, not High School. I'm disgusted by the number of British secondaries adopting 'high school' instead of comprehensive or just secondary school at the end of their names. -.-

I don't know London myself, never been, but I know there's plenty of huge shopping places, then there's all the touristy places. Actually living in London is a bit crap I reckon, but I'd love to visit there.

London? You lucky bastard.

Get into the dubstep scene.

Oh god, London is the place for dub conferences :P

If I were in London I'd go spend all my money in the anime stores... but you're not a nerd so disregard this.

Although I don't live in London myself, I know that there is plenty to do, mainly due to the fact that it is the capital of our country.

Anyway, visit some sites such as:

National Gallery

Imperial War Museum London

Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms

Westminster Abbey

Tower of London

Wallace Collection

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

British Museum

The London Eye

Of course, there is also shopping.

Camden is an immense place where you can spend weeks, finding something new every day.

Harrow skate park PWNS, as does Dingles in Pinner (dirt jumps, ask someone at harrow about them).

Westfields is huge (it's a shopping centre)

There's much fun to be had just messing about in london, just going to all the tourist-y attractions and even just walking around.

Plenty of cinemas around, the best one locally is Uxbridge (the chimes).

Anything you specifically like and i'll probably be able to point you towards it. I live in ruislip, so I'm kinda nearby.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

When I was in in the West Coast, I played up my Texas accent ridiculously. I turned my slightly slow drawl into something you'd expect in a crappy western movie. Girls loved it

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I grew up in Harrow until I was 9.

No idea why anyone would want to live there now though. As has been previously mentioned, try going to Camden because it's an amazing place full of great shops. A lot of the shop owners are foreigners who like to haggle and you could get yourself a bargain, although some may try and persuade you to buy something you don't need. Ali Morrisane land ::'

Since I live in Surrey, I'm pretty much 20 minutes from the centre of London by train, and I've visited enough times, so here's a list of attractions I highly recommend for you. If you got enough time, do them in days at a time so you can see the whole place. But you don't have to do them all in a row of course.

Day 1:

British Museum

Imperial War Museum

I recommend you visit one first, bring your own lunch or bring plenty of money for something at the overpriced Café's they have, and then go to the other. Be in London nice and early (I'd say 10am at the latest) but don't catch the rush hour on the underground from 7am-9am. As an American you should find these pretty interesting and there's a bunch of stuff you can buy from the store there.

Day 2:

Camden Market

The London Dungeons

Camden Market is awesome, there are street performers everywhere, get here at about midday and take a look at what people do, then chillax over a nice long lunch and as mentioned previously, you can haggle everywhere around here. Once you've had your fill here, head over to the London Dungeons, I won't spoil the fun.

Day 3:

The Science Museum

You really have to spend an entire day here, it's so good. Make sure you watch something at the IMAX cinema while you are there, this costs extra money but is so worth it. This place is huge and awesome in every respect and bring a load of money to buy stuff in the shop after because there's everything you could want from gadgets to gizmos to games.

Day 4 (Only if you are interested in art and have some spare money):

The London Eye

Tate Modern

Go to the London Eye just before lunch, the queue will be much shorter at this time, it's expensive but it's worth it if you feel you can spend the money but it is something you HAVE to do if you go to London (And you will meet many tourists here). Have some lunch after in the park nearby, so bring a picnic then head over to the Tate Modern afterwards. The Tate Modern is awesome if you love art, there's so much.

Here are some links:

Transport for London - London Underground

British Museum

Imperial War Museum

London Dungeons

London Eye

Science Museump

Tate Modern

Enjoy!

Also, Thorpe Park is Awesome.

And, for £64 (normal ticket £34) you can get an annual pass which allows free entry for 365 days after purchase. It's really worth it.

Also make sure you have a fake cigar and say BRILLIANT! in appropriate situations.
