Cptbaker08
Campbell's right. 6.7 is WITH deaths calculated in. This. You average that number from all the seeds planted and grown. I myself have gotten about 6.8-6.9 average with my toadflax seeds and maybe 6.5 with snapdragons. I got real unlucky and more then half my Snapdragons died on me. But if i were to grow more it would come out to the same average. It comes down to how much you can spend to begin planting. If you got the money then Snaps/Ranarrs are the way to go. And don't forget about Kwuarms, they are one of the 4 best to plant. As for the thing about growing 1 herb will make back twice as much as you spent. It is like that with most seeds. Planting the seed and then picking the herds results in profit. Better seeds mean more profit and experience. Jeffwilson99
Kwuarms are actually a slightly better profit currently, and the seeds are much cheaper
gspbeetle
Since when kwuarm become underrated :? Toadflax is not recommand to stockpile at the mement, they are dropping fast... RayOxide
What happens if your yield will be like 2 per plant? I'd go with Toads. Though Campbell is actually right, some people hate seeing "dead herb plant" or whatever it is. I dont need a siggy no moar.
JoeDaStudd
Only trouble with snaps and ranarrs is you can have a bad bit of luck. I've had a few runs where each ranarr seed has only given 5 or 6 herbs per harvest. Personally I'm currently doing ranarrs at all but my arms with snaps there. I'm doing this not for the pure profit, but the herblore exp and a profit. For the best and least risky profit kwuarms on all but my arms patch with the best you can do there. O and the minimum yield with magic [insert the correct spelling] (excluding the dead ones of course) is 5. D Jay99
I got a 6.86 average over 1k toadflax seeds, so I'd say the average is the same for every herb and around 6.7 too (had a lot of deaths not a long time after I finished the 1k seeds). Also, people need to understand you calc the profit with averages, not occasional dead seeds or a cost of seed:cost of herb ratio or something. Generally, snaps are always the best to plant if you buy the seeds when they aren't that high.

langer
heh, i just farm 4 toadflax & 1 snap per run, using the disease-free troll patch for the snaps. i can just hop on and do a quick run, and if a toadflax dies its not a big deal. This is the perfect set-up for someone who has not that much GP to massively invest into snaps. Even though I have way more money to pour into farming, i usually do this (expensive seed in my arm's patch and cheap seeds on the rest). In your spreadsheet, your formula should be [herb price*(whatever your average yeild is)]-[seed cost] or else... how could it be done? And no, we dont take dead seeds into account. Not because we dont want to, but its just too damn difficult to take those into the formula. We just dont know the death % is. And no, there isnt anything that is always the best profit. Which obviously isn't right. I guess I didn't word it clearly. And we do take deaths into account, they're already factored in in the average herb yield (which of course isn't accurate if you don't use my arm's patch).
