October 16, 200520 yr Super university internet. I don't know how fast it is. But I did send a file to my friend (in another dorm building) @ 7mb/s. :D ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
October 17, 200520 yr ADSL. 100Mbps. :( $5 more a month to get 250 Mbps but 100 is fine with me. The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.
October 17, 200520 yr You didn't list mine, I have fixed wireless. My home telephone line has ISDN installed on it, and I don't feel like paying the two to three hundred bucks to get it switched.
October 17, 200520 yr 512k ADSL I also use GPRS on my phone (not when at home obviously) to check topics on my own forum. dont know what speed GPRS is but slower than anycomputer connection i use. ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002
October 17, 200520 yr 56k Dail-Up Looking to upgrade, but in Australia, as most other Aussies know, we have some of the worst plans around :( ~Chaosbringer
October 17, 200520 yr TPG isn't bad for internet. I'd recommend Ozemail but they're [bleep] a bit of a [bleep] atm. You just have to check out their ADLS2 plans to realise why.
October 17, 200520 yr I think TPG would be about the best right now, my mate has 1.5mb with 20gig for $50/month.
October 19, 200520 yr 1.5mb down 768k up(not sure about the up). my mate has 1.5mb with 20gig for $50/month. $50 a month for 1.5mb? Thats kinda expensive, isn't it? My internet (same speed) is only $30 a month.
October 19, 200520 yr 56k..actually 28.8kbps on a good day :lol: Upgrading to DSL January, when our dial-up plan runs out :D
October 19, 200520 yr my mate has 1.5mb with 20gig for $50/month. $50 a month for 1.5mb? Thats kinda expensive, isn't it? My internet (same speed) is only $30 a month. Not in Australia. :)
October 19, 200520 yr over 3mbit up and down. Straight ethernet connection to a local server, throttled, and then straight onto the backbone :). Downloading stuff from sourceforge or legal torrents (read: Linux iso's) at 330-350kbyte/s = win
October 29, 200520 yr 8 mbit down 2 mbit up dsl [Ellhound JR][Combat [bleep]][138][200M Attack XP][134/200M Hitpoints XP][250+ jad kills][ <!-- m -->http://www.ellhound.com<!-- m -->]
October 29, 200520 yr Why did you put DLS and Satellite in the same vote? They are completely different Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/12
October 30, 200520 yr I have used DSL for quite awhile now...much better than 56k, must worse than cable :)
October 30, 200520 yr For 4+ years I had 1.5 Mbps down ADSL, but my provider got worse and worse.. It got to the point where some times I would be disconnected every 5 minutes for 2-3 days straight. I phoned and they fixed whatever the problem was, but within a month another problem would creep up. I also never got close to the 1.5 Mbps speed, it was usually around 1-1.2. In the summer a few months ago I switched to 5 Mbps down/512K up Cable. It is $5 more, but I almost always get close to the max speed (so 5x that of my ADSL), I haven't experienced any significant problems, my latency is a bit better (suprisingly), and triple the bandwidth (though the ADSL provider was never strict about it). I wouldn't switch back to the ADSL if it only cost $5 a month, it is inferior in every way to the connection I have now (speaking specifically about my previous provider, Telus).
