Well i'll be starting on my Slayer Goals again soon (right after i get 300 MA Rank aswell as a DFS and 88 Summoning). I want to make sure that i have all my bases covered when i start so i won't have to worry about them.

 

I'll use the following for normal tasks (such as Abyssal Demons, Sust Devils, Greater Demons [Tasks that require little Def]) :

 

Slayer Helm

Dragon Chainbody

Dragon Platelegs

Dragon Boots

Fire Cape

DFS

Abyssal Whip

Berserker Ring(i)

Amulet of Fury

Barrows Gloves

Saradomin Godsword (This i'll only use for the Spec)

 

 

For tasks that require more Def(Black Demons, etc.) ill be using the following gear:

For each task i will be using a Bunyip (Unicorn if needed). I will also be Praying 10% Strength and i'll be using Super Attack and Super Strength Potions.

 

I know the armour mentioned above is not the best money can buy, but at the moment its the best MY money can buy. I will be saving all the money i make to get myself up to 90 Prayer and after that i'll be saving to replace the Dragon and Barrows armour with Bandos and after that the Ranging equipment will be replaces with Armadyl.

 

Do i have all my bases covered? Do i need anything? If you're going to suggest i just use Barrows for everything you're doing so in vein. I'm not concerned about the repair cost or the hastle about rapairing it, i just want to slay in something that i think looks nice. Makes Slayer just a bit more enjoyable.

 

Anyway, after reading the long post, can you see anything missing?

You could bump up Zammy D'hide to Karil's for more mage defence, but it seems to have shot waaaaay up recently so it's up to you (Probably won't need it for too long if you follow up on your goal of 99 mage, Gl on that btw :thumbsup: )

I think you have Karil's IIR, so like Aspeeder said, you should always use Karil's. Like you said, the repair cost/time doesn't bother you ;)

The Sara Godsword is just as good if not bette than the Whip/DFS combo, plus it gives a big prayer advantage and will save you inventory slots.

Most definitely, a godsword is more efficient than whip/dfs. But the whip/defender combo just destroys both of them.

Whip is still faster then a GS. So Whip+DFS still seems better imo. Whip+Def for all tasks though, they make it go by that much faster.

 

Also I don't think you need the Infinity Boots. I use dragon and they work just fine. At your stats you should be fine.

 

For prayer you can try using a Trimmed Skillcape instead. I hear its only place you might need it, Fire cape every where else. And even then if you have the Ardougne Diary completed to at least hard, you can use that cape instead for a +6 prayer bonus.

 

You can also try to get the Falador Shield 3 for that awesome prayer boost. Or just stick with the Defender and go for speed

 

If you cannon you can also try cannoning Black Demons. Or maybe try try praying them in the CT.

Yeah i always did my Black Demon tasks in Tav Dungeon. I would cannon tank them. Usually i could do a task of 150 in about half an hour. Its kind of a money waster but its probably my favorite task due to the emmense speed. I think once i get a Pony i can tank them without having to Protect Pray once. Also the other day i thik it was Djay who said something about only saving 1.2k an hour when using Skillcape (t) over Fire Cape. Once again there i think fire cape is wiser choice because it miht increase my killing speed.

I remember seeing that, but I'm pretty sure it was for JUST melee pray? Even if so, it probably wouldn't save over 5k/hour, so yes use a f cape. Forgot about seeing that ;p

don't forget zamorak brews. They're an effective alternative to prayer pots. I like using them in spots like aberrant spectres and black demons. You don't have to use them of course.

Did you read the original post? He said he's going to use a DFS, I'm telling him to use a defender because It's more accurate, and it provides faster killing speed. I don't care to remember how we got into the discussion of whip/DFS vs a godsword, but I've personally tested it, and the loss of accuracy from a defender is key in the godsword being faster.

Yes i know Whip+Defender is the best option. But for most/all slayer tasks you don't need as much accuracy as a GS has. Maybe at a Boss in the GWD you need the extra accuracy. That way the speed of the Whip still best the GS, even if the shield is the DFS or what you might use there instead. Such as the Falador Shield 3 or Unholy book.

 

And it started when stormveritas said the GS was better then the Whip/DFS combo and you agrred with that.

Black demons is a nice task for using the cannon. When doing that you can use void range to help the cannon a bit.
