Fighter torso

Featured Replies

Ok, so I have recently completed the arduous task of gaining a full Void range set. This took me ~7 hours with a mix of a good team and W144 when the team was empty.

I was wondering if gaining a fighter torso would take more or less time than gaining void range, thanks in advance.

I'd estimate the torso to take a good 10hours of grinding if you're lucky to find decent teams.

The bonus doesn't seem to justify that amount of time spent.

casual_john.png

Nah it really doesnt. And remember i said thats if youre lucky to get a good team. Often you get bad teams and it takes an extra hour or 2 to get it. You will be better of with Barrows or be like the old School Slayers and use a D Chain.

Correct. The trouble is its seen as free, but people either underestimate the time it takes or overestimate the advantage of the top.

Its far better in the long run to gain money using a semi-decent exp method and buy bandos if you feel the need for 4+ str bonus.

I'm using D plate at the moment but I am considering downgrading to D chain, would this be a good idea?

The profits from the downgrade will go towards 99 range. (which will be partly funded using your fantastic aviansie guide slay.. ;))

In 10 hours, with your levels, you could probably get about 7-8million at Green Dragons (if you're lucky and find an empty world), considering you're unlikely to get a decent team, it'l probably take 13 hours+, which is 10m or so. Add this to whatever cash you have, and you might be able to buy a piece of Bandos, which is much better than a torso.

As for Void range, the helmet will be much quicker to get than a torso, and it also much better, especially if you're after 99 range.

As for downgrading D Plate, is there any need? Aviansies doesn't cost.

People always argue that Fighter torso isn't worth the time, concering money and exp/hr, but nobody ever thinks about how hot it actually looks. Definitely get it, for looks at least.

Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)

Dagannoth kings drops: 73

Barrows item count: 51

GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)

Whips: 4

Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

Just buy Torag's platebody or Bandos' Chestplate :P

I wouldn't agree with buying Torag's. Hes asked about a Fighter Torso, so i'd assume defence bonus isn't a massive issue. I would agree with getting a piece of Bandos, or just a Dragon chain/plate for now would work.

It all depends what and where you're using it for.

I'll be using the cash from a mix of downgrading items and aviansies to fun 99 via chinning.

Who really cares about the hours. You have plenty more hours you will play. If you feel like it; then get it! Runescape is a game not a business :P

In my eyes Barbarian Assault is a pretty damn fun Mini-Game and i got my Torso in 5-7 hours with my cousin and some good mates. Honestly, once you start and enjoy yourself, it gets fun and it is a nice reward on the side.

It is a pain if you're trying on the themed world with mostly noobie teams, but with a nice team it's fun to get, and doesn't take too long to get.

@santana_raphael

I'm retired from Runescape due to my really bad connection, maybe coming back soon

having gotten one myself, imo, it is worth it.... I use it on almost all slayer tasks, and compareded to bandos, where 4+str is 20 mil, its worth it... just bite the bullet and do it.

meamzed.png

+4 str will never be worth 6 hours, unless you're going to get 200m melee xp or something. If you spend 6 hours making 500k/hour, you will have enough money for about 40 hours of using 10% str prayer, which helps a lot more.

I fully agree with this.

Torso might not be the most efficient way to spend your time, but I would definitely have a lot more fun playing a cool minigame, talking to people, and enjoying myself than grinding away killing green dragons for hours to afford a bandos chestplate.

Of course, if efficiency is your thing, then just don't bother with torso. Otherwise, just play a little bit of barb assault, and if you like the game, just go for it.

Regardless of the above, though, to answer your original question, it's probably a little faster to get the void range than the torso.
