I will though it is now looking as if for our duel we should probably find a place that is not likely to be overtly damaged from our attacks.

Heya! Thanks for the compliment Breadman.

What type of magic would nex's idea require anyways?

LNYvk.png

Grim? I think the best place would be some kind of salt-flats type place. Desert wouldn't work, Jen would soak it.

EDIT: Some kind of dimensional magic, possibly a light/dark/shadow combo like ICU used on Jen during that one duel. It also might be a kind of ritualism...

Hmm if I invested a bit of money or geomancy experience I could create a plateau for us to fight on (simple rock raised up with staircases)

LNYvk.png

Well, at your current skill, you would attempt to open a portal with a very slim chance of success, and then that portal would more than likely proceed to drag out a fire diety or spirit which would be incredibly pissed off at you for summoning it while it was sleeping, or just annihilate everything (Yourself included) in a 50 metre radius.

Better not put it somewhere important, the attacks would cause lots of fallout/debris. That might be amusing, though, putting it near Caster (or Castor, whatever)

Ah thank you ross for clarifying. Well that won't work yet so around the point that I can soften mystril I will probably be able to use that attack.

Shielding, Ross. And personally, I think the sun would be much simpler with more reliable results. Create some kind of shielding, though I suppose it would need to be completely enclosed to avoid severe radiation fallout and widespread fire.

The amount of magic needed to maintain a portal, even a small one at that distance, its just massive. I'd imagine it'd take quite a large skill in w/e it is needed to do so

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Shielding would not work and unless there is a skill called "portal magic" I cannot simply create a pin[puncture] with one end closed off (ie it only fires in one direction) then I think this should rest for awhile.

That would be a jawdropping sight, not for Quisitor however (pun intended).

Well, you use small scale teleportation magic. Portal magic is plausible, just don't trust the cake.

It's most definately a lie.

Anyways, to create a shield capable of blocking the divine power of creation from the plane of fire, you'd need to have some bloody powerful magic up your sleeve. By which I mean like level 30-35.

NOT THE DARNED PLANE OF FIRE. The Sun. Big difference.

Hmm I wonder if one were to adapt light magic for barriers could you do that (for instance create an etheral shield?)

EDIT: To bread; Welcome! @ nex in my case it would be far better for me to use the plane of fire simply because the sun would take more energy than that. Also is it worth it getting neverwinter nights?

EDIT#2: I wonder what would happen if retech opened a gate to the plane of water in a bowl and flew up?

flood of deqath? long as his charecter tries thataway from this golem, ill be happy.

Today's session is when?

Also, just to make sure my golem plan is clear, this is what I want to try:

We all retreat through the barrier, heal, and Hakon distracts the golem while I use geomancy to create a pit beneath it, deep enough so that it can't easily escape. Then Earthsage uses his acid magic to dissolve the soft Einherjarium composing (all or most? Earthsage told me only part of the golem is made of it) the golem's form. Backup plan? We use magic to determine where the golem's crystal is, and I use a thick, hollow drill made of stone to smash a hole through to the life crystal. Then, Hakon shoots magekiller bolts/bullets through the center of the drill to shatter the crystal. Second backup plan? All out assault using Earth's acid magic to prevent the golem from regenerating while I wear away the Einherjarium with blasts of water and Hakon uses his magekiller bolts to slow down any possible regeneration (it can negate metalmagic, right? not entirely, just weakening it slightly?), once we penetrate to the crystal, I shatter it with resonance magic or, failing that, Hakon smashes it with a bullet.

Think that'll work?

Also is it worth it getting neverwinter nights?

Yes. like 45 hours of gameplay in the 3 original campaigns alone, then pretty much another 500 if you download all the good community modules for it.

Session should start around 9:00, will last 2-3 hours, but probably 2.

Also, you don't entirely know what the golem is made of, I've just dropped hints.

2Xeo5.png

Or can do this, you two make sure it stays still while behind the barrier, I shoot it's head of with three bullets (one barrel). That way we don't destroy the valuable life crystals.
