Well, Dark Elves are nimble and quick. opposed to being strong. Able to see better than most in the dark, but not complete night sight, if thats reasonable?

Oh also what you may want to know about is that currently fire and (to a lesser degree) ice magic are some of the most versatile skills in the game (along with geomancy and allomancy) Though I am not sure if you get cold fire & hot ice right from the get go.

erm, maybe we've been overloading her a bit. lets give her a chance ti gather her thoughts and post in response. also, she'll learn as she goes, just like the rest of us. give her hints when she needs them, not befor shes started.

Allomancy is a good skill. Powerful. If you're creative you can do anything. And, if all the Archineers are killed and the skill disappears we get all our points refunded in any other skills.

Actually I think you may keep the skill (not sure but possibly) and be able to teach others even if the archineers are destroyed

I haven't actually decided, but it's likely the actions you take which results in an outcome. I like it when everyone has a different kind of magic though, as I'll probaly encourage when everyone is facing a mob of highly resistant to everything but something monsters. :D

Hey retech may I ask if the shapers will be incorporated into the story line (they should be grateful to me for saving one of them)

In the matter of "overload"; I read and write in my spare time and RPing via passed notebooks with irl friends. I"ll manage. Yes text RPGing is new to me online, but I did play DnD for a bit when i was younger. The manner of play can't be too far off that I should have trouble, so I would like to start off as everyone else did: with barely anything. I appreciate the warm welcome though, but special treatment just because I am new, no thanks lol.

 

As for my character, I havent read much into Dungeoneering yet, but is there a form of healing magick? I would prefer my character to have a stronger defensive magick than offensive, since where my character came from: they were taught to preserve, not destroy unless it was necessary. I know, not what the average dark elf is like, but I like thinking outside the box.

 

In case that was hard to understand (I can ramble incoherently) I'd like to be more a cleric-style class that doesnt really work on offense until I'm stronger. That and I love being a supportive role

So by that you mean I could train in Healing, Light magicks as well as others?

You can train in whatever you want. My character, for instance, specializes mostly in sound magic and transmog magic. Grim specializes in fire magic, and Poseidon specializes in drowning himself.

I specialize in lightning magic and geomancy, using part magic, part mechanic objects.

Yes, i plan on specialising in Light Magic. Even if the process is slow it will be useful later. I've RP'd where it took my character 4 months of day-to-day RPing to just finish learning basic survival skills. I'm sure this is fast

It's much faster, but the only thing is that I have a habit of making it difficult for repetitive tasks. For example, if you want to lift weights the whole day, I'll give a high chance (maybe roll below an 18 on a d20) of making your arms fall off, because it's no fun to lift weights. :P

Oh, that reminds me. Inventory is not super important in this game, so as long as you know you have something, it's alright. Normally the only items you need will be your armor, weapons, any special trinkets you pick up along the way, and the equipment to overcome obstacles (like rope or something).

Does that mean my character can carry a pouch of hygiene items to keep clean? hygiene=method of resting/meditation in some cases as well as a higher moral, or does the RP not run that deep?

 

Edit: you'd be amazed what aspects of life I can turn into a helpful bonus lol
