You manage to form flame wards around all the party members around. Despite this, you notice they are wholly ineffective at stopping the lava, when a spray of lava catches Earth in the back, causing him to fall towards you. Once again, you catch another party member as they are falling to the bottom. The fire on Earth's back begins to spread onto your clothes, and you begin to feel sleepy from aphyxiation.

Your back catches fire from a spray of lava, and you fall down the volcano, to be caight by Tairn.

 

-Nex

 

You arrive at the volcano and try to rescure Tairn, but you quickly realize it might not be a good idea to pick up a burning person.

That is all you manage to read, before you slip on the staircase and fall to the bottom.

sorry iey! i try to put out the flames by suffocating it with necro, and then i try to make necro wings.

[Jehosaphat]

Yeah, I saw that coming. Seriously. I thought "Oh, I'm probably gonna fall down the staircase or something..."

 

Kemios picks up the book, sits down, and reads it.

[Ieyfura]

In my dazed state, I slam the bottom of the staff into the ground and chant an area wide Aura of Healing, hoping that it both heals and dispels the smoke.

[Grim_]

Grim attempts to smother the flames on tairns and earths backs with thin layers of stone. If that does not work he unzips his pants and uses his natural fire hose so to speak.

[Retech]

You sap the strength of the flames, and they die down. However, as you begin to work on your necro wings, that necro is far better at destroying than creating (other than mutating) and that it was unlikely that it was going to work. The smoke begins to surround you in a denser fog than before.

 

-Kemios

 

You skim through the first section of the book, noticing that you've already learned everything that is in it. As you begin to read the next section of the book, most of it seems deliberately scratched out. Suddenly, the book is snatched away. A rather short old man in fine ruffled robes and a walking stick is glaring down at you.

 

"Don't be barging into other people's homes without permission, you hear me? You gave me quite a fright! Ah, but that's old business now. Would you like to come in for some tea?"

 

It seems to be the transmogrification master.

 

-Grim

 

Your "fire hose" burns to a crisp in the hot, harsh air. As you recoil in pain and zip your pants back up, you realize that the fire is already out and that God does not like funny business. :)

[Jehosaphat]

Kemios says "Uhh, sure." He then meekly follows the transmog master.

 

Also, Grim's fate made me laugh, for some odd reason.

[Nexaduro]

I fly down, cause my armour to cool enough to prevent melting and put out the fires on Iey, Grim, and Earth with ice magic, then pick up Iey, then Grim, then Earth and fly them to an area where they can move to safety. I make sure to purify the air around our mouths with aeromancy.

Grim attempts to heal his ...burnt areas and then attempts to summon an enormous cold fire hawk.

The old coot talks to you about random stuff for a few hours in his cave, and you almost doze off several times. Finally, he falls asleep at his chair. Now that you have time to get a good look around, you see several bookcases full of tomes of various kinds. You see an amulet rack near the back and a door leading further into the cave, which seems locked. Then you notice the tome that you were reading before, lying lazily on a table near the entrance of the cave.

 

-Nex

 

You manage to move everyone to the area closer to the river of water, which seems much safer than the smaller rivers of lava.

 

-Grim

 

You manage to heal yourself. A cold fire hawk seems out of your capacity at the moment, in all the chaos and confusion.

 

-Tairn

 

The ground absorbs the energy of your healing spell, before you are lifted by Nex nearer to the river of water, a decent distance away from the volcano. The ivory mage seems to have woken up, and wonders out loud.

 

"Why aren't we near the volcano now?"

Kemios decides to browse through the books and read any that are on transmog topics he has not yet achieved.

Igos asks his subjects what has been happening during his absence.

Answering the Ivory Mage, "Well, Earth decimated it into a severely premature eruption" I slam my staff into the ground again and focus, with my now non dazed mind, on the Aura of Healing.

[Nexaduro]

"Well, it seems a bit volatile. Mayhaps continuing in that direction wouldn't be the best of ideas. So, what do you know about The One?"

[Earth]

i try to break a chunk of sonium off, while trying to work out how to make mutated necro claws.

[Retech]

Sorry, something came up.

You learn a decent amount of information, mainly more efficient ways of transmoging what you've already been doing. The mage starts to wake up, and it seems that it will only be another turn before he does.

"Well it's a long story really, but basically there's another undead army marching towards us after the previous ones were destroyed. Then the fire mage Grim opened a gate into the plane of fire, destroying almost the entire army, but the leader seems to be fine, working on rebuilding his army."

 

-Tairn

 

The ground absorbs your energy once again, disappating your spell. The ivory mage manages to stand up, and starts shaking his head.

 

"No, we must stop it immediately. This problem can no longer get worse, so we should go forward and hope for the best."

 

-Nex

 

"The who? I've been trapped in that darned mountain for so long, I haven't known anything happening recently."

 

-Earth

 

The sonium is too small to break off. You fail to make necro claws. (Necro is a destroying force, not really a creating one.)

[Earth]

(the claws are just to be a destroying force. its a form that the necro can tear into enemies.) i continue heading up the mountain.

[Nexaduro]

I use allomancy to form the sonium into a pair of claws (or at least one) for Earthsage. I then give the mage a flat glare.

"Uh-huh. Right. I have reason to think that you're the one who caused the bedlam back at Ikana. I only have one thing to say:"

I pause, draw a breath, and smile gleefully.

"Do you have any contacts among the Archineers?"

[Grim_]

Grim attempts to create a bridge out of enchanted stone over the river (the opposite of type 1a [highly non conductive and with a high melting point)

[Jehosaphat]

Kemios decides to sit back down and wait for the old man to wake up.

[Retech]

-Earth

 

After being carried back to the river of water again, you encounter a ring of lava with floating stone platforms bobbing along the surface. They don't look too stable.

 

-Nex

 

The sonium becomes brittle and breaks down into a fine powder.

 

"First of all, I am greatly offended! An ivory mage would do no such thing. Secondly, what is a Bedlam and who the hell are the Archineers?"

 

-Grim

 

You notice that your nether regions have already been healed. You manage to form a rather large hawk capable of holding two or three people, but it seems smaller and less powerful than the one you had before.

 

-Kemios

 

The old man wakes up and looks at you with knowing eyes.

 

"Did you think that I would be completely oblivious when I went to sleep? I'm an Ivory mage!"

 

Then he smiles at you, before getting up and going through the locked door deeper into the cave. He gestures for you to come with him.

[Jehosaphat]

Kemios follows him. "So you know about my transmog training, huh? That's cool, what else do you know abou me?"

[Grim_]

Grim flies over the river of fire looking for the ivory mage on his hawk.

[Earth]

great job nex... you jsut broke the only reward i got from dieing.... i try to see if i have another gunck of sonium, while trying to stabalize the platforms.
