Herblore, Runecrafting, Cooking, Agility, Summoning, and maybe Magic

Rune crafting isnt useful at 99... sure you can make a few more lower level runes but 91 is where runecrafting really stops providing benefits. Imo

No point getting Herblore past the level for overloads, same applies to Magic with the highest spell being 96 I think.

Summoning cannot be achieved with a budget of 10m.

I've heard Hunter is a fast 99 and can make you money, other than that like Championfury said: Runecrafting, Cooking or Agility.

Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?

It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.

Agility, fishing, woodcutting, mining and hunting are pretty much the only skills that are useful all the to level 99.

Most other skills hit their usefulness peak in the early 90s.

I'd suggest agility though, mainly beacuse you get the agile armor on your way to 99, which are very good when training other skills like RC.

Also, now when there is advanced agility courses you can get upto 70k exp/h, which is pretty good.

Also, the cape looks awesome, always a +

Whatever skill you choose, goodluck! :D

Fishing, mining, woodcutting, and hunter are relatively weak moneymakers at 99, which makes them useless. Especially woodcutting, which makes less than 200k gp/hr even when maxed. (Hunter can make good money with dragon implings I guess, but that only needs 83, which is a big difference.) Agility is also useless at 99, since you can eliminate the need for energy restoration completely long before maxing out.

Summoning stands out as the most useful 99, tbh. You can easily get it with 10m once you incorporate Miscellania and herb farming and similar activities that you should be doing anyway, so long as you don't try to burst rock lobsters for your charms. This works with summoning even better than with prayer, because the bulk of training time is spent gathering charms, which costs no money and even makes a profit depending on what you kill. So although you eventually may end up spending millions, you could also make it all back by the time you're done. It also ties conveniently into your goals of 99 attack and defense--just kill charm droppers.

I just told him what skills that are usefull, even at level 99, since that's what he asked for.

Also, I really doubt he would want to get a skill like summoning to level 99. He asked for a skill that would be quick to train, and the way you suggested would take ages.

Summoning is probably one of the most useful 99s though, can't disagree on that.

Agility is a useful 99 (faster run restore means you get places quicker and virtually no fail rate for obstacles etc. with are also benefits., has a cool emote, nice cape and costs 0gp! Amazing!

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

Hunter is a relatively fast and arguably useful 99. You'll make money from hunting Grenwalls/Pawyas. Agility is extremely useful, but probably too slow for your liking. Summoning is probably the most useful 99 you can have, and it'll get you maxed melees. It's also slightly profitable if you kill waterfiends.

Cleaning herbs is around 100k exp/h if you do it right.

Agility isn't very slow anymore, I managed to get 65-70k/h at the advanced courses.

Magic is still more useful at 99 than it is at 96. Granted, there are no more useful spells to unlock past that level (excluding Miasmic Barrage, which is only used in specialized PvP situations), but a higher magic level still increases the accuracy of your spells. If you're going to include woodcutting, fishing, and mining on your lists due to their faster gathering rates at 99 and not because of any new content at that level, magic should follow those same lines.

I don't include those because there's no reason to cut logs, mine ores, and fish fish. You're better off mhing or something and buying them.

You didn't, but previous posters did. I'm just pointing out that while magic has a different damage system compared to other forms of combat, it still qualifies as more useful at 99 than at 96.

Its useful at 99 (i count not burning food as useful)

Or you could just buy the cooked food from the grand exchange and sell the raws, giving you money. Cooking is NOT useful.

Its the most useful cape trim you will get. Thats what hes asking for

Herblore would be more useful, and that too would trim his cape.

I believe the pack yak is your best friend. But, as you're all combatted out, I would go for agility, it will help you train any skill involving running(I think you can get down to about -35 kg with the new agility armors). Very useful for hardcore clue hunters/questers.

Sadly, your weight doesn't effect your run under 0KG.

But, on topic.

Just got for what ever you enjoy training. That's what Runescape is about. Having fun.

Besides, there is no excessively useful 99 (Aside from summoning. Steel titan is HAWT).

99 combats, prayer, agil, WC, fish, cooking, ect are all useful to some extent at 99. Because they have slightly boosted abilities at higher levels.
