PuppyKing
And they are asking me to fill out a form including my phone number and address. Is this normal? Blog.
Kiriyama
Firstly, you are not supposed to divulge messages between you and Jagex. Secondly, if it was sent through the RuneScape message system between you and Jagex, then we can assume it is. Flyingjj
And they are asking me to fill out a form including my phone number and address. Is this normal? Was the message in your Jagex inbox on the game website? If yes, then it is indeed normal for that. They like to have a bit more information on their player moderators. Range_This11
Who cares, just give them the landline number for your phone. I've never seen giving out an address as a big deal. Cowman_133
why would they need your address...? Basically a way to crack down bad accounts getting mod status - they can pass the info to authorities if they are found RWTing, etc.
Rock Hard
why would they need your address...? Basically a way to crack down bad accounts getting mod status - they can pass the info to authorities if they are found RWTing, etc. Why would the authorities care about someone RWTing? I don't think it's illegal... Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think every thing you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Was a bad example - RWT is only technically illegal because you cannot sell Jagex's property (copyright, etc)

SirIzenhime
It's a new system they do for Modship, they actually send you something Via mail with like confirmation codes on it. One of my IRL friends did this. Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^
Jodie
As long as the message you received asking you if you were willing to be a player moderator came through the Jagex msg center, it is safe. Jagex is simply being responsible in the modding process: making sure you are who you say you are and being able to hold you accountable should you not be. I am what I am! Acknowledging this is the beginning and my growth is yet to end!!
The_Fray
"Once registration is complete Jagex won’t contact you using the information that you have replied. We’ll class the information as Top Secret and we give you our word that we won’t spam you with mail and we’ll never use your details for advertising, marketing or any form of commerical venture. The information will be securely handled by a specialist unit – the Community Management team won’t have access to your information..." "The only time a Moderator’s details may ever be used for anything other than registration would be if we believed that the Moderator had been involved in illegal online activities, in which case we’d be required to pass such information to the relevant authorities. We assure you that we have no reason to suspect any invitee of illegal behaviour. You wouldn’t be invited to join the Moderator Agency if we did. Registration helps send a clear message to the world that we take such things very seriously and that we are 100% confident in our Moderators..." I quoted all the relevant info from the moderator registration FAQ. You can find this when you log onto the forums, after you have been invited.
