February 18, 201016 yr Hello! Today I made a remarkable discovery. I currently have 1 summon, but I wanted to do the easy Fremennik task. You cannot recharge at the obelisk without the Wolf whistle quest...under one condition. I found this completely by accident. It requires you to compete Desert Treasure and get to the last part in Recipe for Disaster. Now bear in mind, I don't know EXACTLY which quest where it worked, but nonetheless it did. Note that I am leaning more on the Recipe for Disaster quest. The part I am talking about in both quests is the part where your stats are drained. Your stats are drained either on the icy area north of Trollheim in search for the Ice Diamond in the Desert Treasure quest, or while fighting Karamel (level-136), one of the Culinaromancer's minions in the Recipe for Disaster. I believe your summoning can be drained while fighting Karamel. As you fight her, your stats will be drained every time she uses her magic spell. I used only regular stat restore potions to bring back up my combat stats. The stat restore potions do not raise your other skill levels up. After fighting her, I found out that my summoning was 0/1! I was so excited to see that, that I went to the summoning obelisk to see if it would recharge. Sure enough, it did, and my easy achievement Diary updated! This can be used to complete the rest of the Fremennik Diary tasks with only level 1 summon. I hope this helps others who have 1 summoning complete the Fremennik Diary tasks. If anyone can confirm that your summoning stat is drained by Karamel, please let me know. Note: I am not going to do wolf whistle because I want to be a PKer with only 1 summon. So thats why I am posting this.Edit: I don't know how summoning effects pking currently, I haven't played in 1.5 years. So info on that would be nice.
February 18, 201016 yr the area above GWD should work for this too, and it only requires 50 strength or agility :P
February 18, 201016 yr That sounds like a bug to me. the area above GWD should work for this too, and it only requires 50 strength or agility :P I thought that areas that lowered your stats only brought them to 1 at a minimum, not 0?
February 18, 201016 yr Fighting a dust devil without a facemask might have the same effect. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
February 18, 201016 yr Or you could, you know: Do wolf whistle? I would say that it's actually less of a hassle, than waiting for the point of a quest where your summoning level is drained.
February 18, 201016 yr Author Or you could, you know: Do wolf whistle? I would say that it's actually less of a hassle, than waiting for the point of a quest where your summoning level is drained. I don't wanna gain summoning levels because I want to be a pker with 1 summon, so I didn't do wolf whistle.
February 18, 201016 yr Getting diseased might also work. but i've never let it happen to me long enough to see what it does to stats like that. and your summoning levels don't count towards your combat level in pking unless you have a pouch on your character or have a familiar summoned. (i think)
February 18, 201016 yr You realise that summoning no longer effects your combat level so no reason to stay 1 summ unless you are stupidly padantic about not wanting a +1/2/3/4 or w/e on your precious combat level >.> Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod![hide=old sig][/hide]

I haven't played in 1 and a half years, so i don't know anything about pking and summoning anymore. Can someone please explain this to me? Will summoning effect my combat level while pking? Information about this would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about being a noob at summoning...
February 18, 201016 yr Summoning levels work like this: If you are one a regular world, summoning levels are invisible in the overall combat. (example, your combat level is 90) If you are on a bh or pvp world, your combat level is your regular level + your summoning gained cb level (87+3) In the latter, your combat level in action isnt 90, but 87, so those 3 levels form summoning will be useless UNLESS you have a pouch in your inventory or a familiar summoned. Got it?
February 18, 201016 yr Unless you have a pouch/familiar summoned or in your inventory your combat level is "110+3" ectThus meaning you have 3 combat levels from summoning but they dont affect anything Noobs: We pay we sayJaGeX: How much will you pay?
February 18, 201016 yr Author Ahh, I think I understand now. So that means Pkers can have 99 summon as long as they don't actually use the summoning skill while Pking, correct? So if you don't summon anything while Pking, your combat level will be as if you had level 1 summon, right? Ok, this was extremely helpful everyone. Now I know I can actually train summoning while still being an effective Pker. Thanks.

I don't think so, because I've seen lvl 138s w/o anything summoned behind them.
February 18, 201016 yr If your talking about bh/pvp worlds, then they could have a pouch in their inventory In regular worlds (non pvp) it's perfectly normal, since that "addition" in the pvp worlds is solved (87+3=90; 126+12=138)

What he means is that you can't tell which combat levels come from summoning and which come from traditional combat skills. In a regular world, your summoning level will be included for working out your combat level. In a PVP world, it won't unless you're using or are in a possition to use summoning (eg:having a pouch) give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
