Spirit trees with farming

Featured Replies

So where should you put it? What spot is the most benificial?

I don't have 83 just yet, but there are only a few days left, thanks to planting trees.

Oh, and are calquat trees worth the effort=?

Mine is in Brimhaven; I know it's easy to get there by ardy tele + boat, but I like it A LOT for farming fruit trees (brimhaven to gnome village/stronghold).

Generall consensus is brimhaven spot is most useful as its right by a farm patch and cart to shilo. And brimhaven is one of the least directly accessible places in rs

Ecteria is a waste as u go there for kingdom managing and the fairy ring (heck even the boat) puts u in a much better place to head to the castle or the easy favour resources (fish, coal, maples)

Sarim is a waste as u rarely need to go there and if you do theres glory > draynor and few fairy rings and cabbage port all right there

Ok, Brimhaven it is. What about calquat trees?

And do watered seeds grow in the bank, or do i need to wait with them in the inventory?

You can use garden pie (+3) at 80 farming, to grow your own spirit tree quicker :) Remember to use supercompost and payment, i dont think u want watch it for over 2.5 day :P

Well, it's not like i don't have seeds to spare.. 22 of them atm.

They're 20k xp each. Even you have enough seeds, you don't want to lose on that much free xp.

Yes, watered seeded pots grow in bank

Also, if you can use it, the Stranger Plant can give you more of a bonus then Garden pie s can.

Only marginally

Garden pie is +3 at 80.

Stranger Plant is +4 at 80 and 79

I'm gonna have to disagree here and say that etceteria > brimhaven

I say if you have the ardougne diary completed up to the point you can change your watchtower teleport, etceteria is by far the best option

brimhaven is accessable via the home teleport spell if you place your house @ brimhaven

only other places I would rather have a house would be:

Rimmington: single bush patch (not worth it imo)

Taverly: good for summoning if you have pack yaks (few ppl do, and even so it wont be long til they reach 99 summoning, and kyatts aren't much worse)

Yanille: good if you can't set your watchtower teleport to the center of yanille

otherwise brimhaven is the best spot hands down.

farming patch is the fastest way to restore favor, much faster than fish/coal/maples and you don't even need to

you don't even need to remember to bring a hatchet beforehand

It's just as quick a way to get to advisor ghrim as any other method, but if you're like me you like to wait as long as you can before withdrawing from KM

etceteria spirit tree is by far the fastest way to restore approval rating on a daily basis

Brimhaven gives easy acess to the Tz-haar city, karamaja, agility thingy and farm spot. Ecteria is just as useful as the fairy ring update, and with fairy tale pt 3 coming up, there won't be a need for lunar/dramen staff to use it.

What on earth you on about?

There absolutely no proof what so ever that FTP3 is going to remove the staff requirement.

Brimhaven is not that inaccessible, you tele to ardougne, take the boat for 30gp and youre there. For the tz-haar city and karamja you use your glory.

The point of having the spirit tree in brimhaven is it convenient for faming the fruit tree and calquat.

And where did you hear about not needing the lunar/draman staff after fairy tale pt3? I would really appreciate the quest if only they did that.

Personaly i have chose port sarim, reason ? Quick acces into gnome city via cabbage port near. Good for bank in some slayer tasks and other non-slayer.

Wow epically flawed logic since there are a lot of teleports that put you alot closer to other banks.

EG duel ring to cwars

Home port to lumby is right ontop of 2 banks

Glory/ancients to edgeville

MA teleport is right by a bank

etc etc

Ecteria has some good reasons to put there

Brimhaven has many good reasons

Port Sarim has no useful reasons at all.

You can tele to al kharid using glory and then use gnome glider or tele to varrock or edge and go to GE to use the spirit tree

You can use a duel ring to ma which is by a spirit tree

he's referring to a comment made by a Jmod saying that people that love the idea of not having their bank cluttered by tool-like items such as lunar staffs, are gonna love fairy tale 3

Some people think this means we won't need lunar staffs anymore. It could mean a million other things too, but I would personally put money on the no more lunar staffs idea.

The weeds on my patch there don't grow back anymore, any idea why that might be?

I never seen this comment and I tend to be good at reading QAs etc. Plus it seems like the kind of comment, that if true, would prompt a lot of debate and chatter.

Brimhaven is easy to get too, you can use the glory amulet to tele to karamja, you can of course take the boat from ardougne, you could put your house in brimhaven, and if you've done the Karamja Diary, you can just use the Karamja gloves to Shilo, then cart ride to brimhaven.

Port swarim is made virtually useless by the Explorer's Ring cabage tele.

I personally like the Ecteria patch the most. It's great for getting from the GE to Misc fast, also good for dagannoth king trips (which I do a lot now) as I can buy all the stuff I need, then just head to ecteria to setup, managing the kingdom is easier with it there, and it also adds another bush patch to your farming runs.

1. There are loads of extra items that are obtained through quests which give you access to other areas or teleports such as the fairy rings. Have you considered that rather than giving us an item we have to then store (taking up bank space) and get out (taking up inventory space) to use, you could not just create a screen similar to the emote screen, from which you could use the fairy rings without having to wield a staff (for example)? This could be applied to other items/unlocks and would also serve as a guide to all players to what has and hasnt been unlocked by them. It would also help players like myself who have been playing for years, but who keep forgetting how to do things.

beausant

Boy, you are going to like Fairy Tale 3. ;)

From RS Content Q&A - pt 2. Fourth last comment.

For teleporting use, I'd find Brimhaven to be the best location.

However, I use Port Sarim, but not for teleporting, as I don't really need the extra tree. I only have it there, as it's very close to Cabbage Port/Draynor bank, and I just replant it as soon it's done growing. I get enough seeds from MTK to keep the process going. Easy ~20k xp :)

And Calquats are worth it. A great amount of experience, for not that much money. Do it, and make sure to have the payment (8 poison ivy berries). And speaking of payments, make sure to gather the payment for your Spirit Tree. It's worth the extra time to gather the materials in order to make sure it survives. It's a lot of Farming xp :D

As Codguy stated, if you have seeds to burn, put them in Port Sarim until you only have 1 left.

Brimhaven, otherwise, is the best place to plant it for farming runs. It speeds up runs a lot.

If you do not farm trees/fruit trees (which, imo, should only be the case if you cannot plant any trees or are 99, regardless of your level, you should be planting trees; even if you do not have a goal. They are so cheap and the runs are so quick that there isn't much reason not to (full tree/fruit tree run takes no longer than 9 minutes if you use the best route), although perhaps after you have "unlocked" farming you could also stop), then Etc. is good if you visit often, but Brimhaven still offers an extremely quick teleport.
