Well easiest done is just by something called "junk": junk is considered left-overs from skilling/anything you do. It has no value for the average player, yet ge gives this junk a certain minimal value..

So what you do is simple increase your trade to X + 90M worth of "JUNK".. Which can be traded for 100M..

Is there a junk guide because i cant get my head around the concept, how is it possible to gather 90m worth of junk? And why cant i sell that junk to the GE to get my money back?

Since nobody buys the junk..

 

Basically these ridiculous amounts of junk are gained by another trade (ie you pay 100M to the 10M worth item, you get 90M junk, which you can use again to sell (another) 10M item for 100M)

So the question I have to add to this thread is this -- why doesn't Jagex adjust the GE medium price to the "actual" value price? Why keep the GE price too low? I mean, that is what a market is FOR! It would be bloody stupid if in the real world a stock market tried to impose a fixed trading range on a particular stock. Yes, the market as a whole does have "circuit breakers" that halt trading of a given stock if it changes too much in too short a time. But the whole purpose of a market is to permit an item to trade at the level where buyers are willing to buy and sellers to sell.

 

So -- why isn't the GE just updated with the "realistic" prices for these high priced items? What is Jagex's objective here? (And related to that -- why haven't the gem prices for the jewelry store in Falador been set to a realistic level? The stock is zero and the prices are nuts low. What are gems treated differently from any other commodity item in the game?)

Jagex has manually changed prices in the GE before but who truly knows the price of this item. The only reason people are trading 100m for it because they are getting junk back. I paid approximately 15m for my hexcrest and focus sight and after I manged to get rid of all the junk, it only cost me 800k more than the Grand exchange price.

the logs are cheap, and the unfinished bows are worth much much more. Since noone buys them, you gather many logs and create bows. insta junnk ^-^

 

Red topaz from mining gem rocks kinda works the same way

Red topaz from mining gem rocks kinda works the same way

The first one is not feasible since it simply is not an effective use of your time. The second one I have never tried so I do not know how fast it is.

I would just like to point out that if take any so called "Junk" item and leave it on the GE for while it does sell. The only thing i have had trouble selling is rune nails becuase im trying to sell them on a down swing and the GE price keeps changing. I sold 10k iron battle axes on the ge it took about 1 month but they all sold so you can sell anything on there if you just wait awhile.

Uhm I managed to sell 1k+ in only a week (red topaz)... So it's not real junk, just requires a bit of patience

They are trying to convince us free trade (maybe with junks), is still around , so they dont want to interfer GE price too often, even if it fails.

Although they are also doing something like this secretly.

 

In real world, goverment or central bank dont usually intervene stock prices even they know hush funds are trying screwing things up, they just kick that stock off the list for serveral days.

Usually those "untradeable" item dont have a min to mid/ mid to max price range, unless it is capped like spirit shards.

So basically you have to consider the item is worth 0gp (eg. Red Topaz, no use, i might as well drop it) but it cost, say, 1k at the GE. But as someone said earlier, you can pretty much sell anything, hell, sell it to the general store?

Ash isn't junk, it's used in serum 207 potions

Junk trading is a waste of time if you don't already have the junk on hand. If you have to go and make the junk, you'd be losing money since you can easily make more with something else. The only reason for junk trading is if you actually have the junk from your everyday leveling and 'scaping.

Real junk is unsellable; general store is a waste considering it has more use as junk.
