Cheezy_Power
One thing I believe I should mention, is that with the x10 update, every point of damage now represents a smaller percentage of your total hp. This makes it easier for jagex to balance combat, especially for lower levels (pures and new players for example) where each point of damage was a higher % of their total hp than higher levelled players. I mean, there's a reason why most games use bigger numbers for combat, and I'll give you a hint; it's not for show. In the blog, Jagex probably used the new players as an example of this because it has the most immediate, dramatic effect at the time they implemented this. This is most likely part of their rebalancing of the combat triangle they talked about in the first content Q and A. They probably released this part first so players could get their instincts used to the higher numbers first. I can see larger game changing updates in the future. If my senses are right, It'll be about as fun to watch those debates as it was when they introduced limited free trading. High-alching that REALLY expensive item in my inventory looks more and more tempting with every beer I drink. Assume Nothing
Meh, personally it's more of a preference then anything else. Its what I was used to, and its easier to add up 33-26-8-9 then 334-262-79-93 when I d claw spec. Having to mentally change each hit down by a factor of 10 is annoying. But I'll get used to it, and I can easily see how this adds great potential in the realm of damage reduction and multipliers. Not to matter, individual strength levels and bonuses matter more now, it would seem. Just think how much better at maths we might become. Lol'd. I think the update itself should be more optional, as most bosses will take alot of time to adjust to (corporeal beast hitting a 50 would be a 5). I think eventually most people will be used to it, returning players are going to get a surprise but beyond that its a decent update. It really does remind me of the hp bar update, it was a good update, just took time to get used to
mtw700
If everything could go back to the way it was before RS2, then I would say F* change. But seeing as how that's not going to happen... Youmu
Yes, I definitely like this change. Because now it shows the exact "decimal" place, you get more exp/hour. And eff the ranters, just ignore them because they're not going to make a major difference anyway (even though they think they will). AirWales
I don't care so much that they changed the numbers (the reason given was stupid though), but what bothers me most is the name; constitution. So to answer your question: No, I don't like the new changes. Click here for my Firemaking guide!
bedman
=D> you're exactly the type of person they tailored the update for. Someone who'd rather hit 100's than normal amounts. The old runescape system made it unique from what I have heard. I'd rather hit 50's and have the achievement of printscreening it and positing it on here going " :D YAYS AMG A 50 :D" Instead of watching the screen going "oooh and another 500, oh there's another there's another" etc. But still. If you want to hit high go play WoW or something. Runescape was good the way it was and that's how it should go back to. You'll hit 500's the same amount of times as you hit 50's before this update. People seriusly need to read the update before complaining... If you look at the topic I was generally posting during the first few pages reading everything that was coming my way that update ;)Yes, however 50 feels more of an achievement. What about Brunokiller. The highest he hit on that guy was an 83 which I still believe is in his signature. That is an ACHIEVEMENT! Something to say, "look I perfected what I could this is what I hit, I can now improve" whereas if he wanted to hit 830 he'd have gone and played WoW just like the rest of us would. Having 10X the HP and changing a skill that's been there from the beginning was a very dumb move as it annoyed not only alot of relatively new players like myself, but veterans too!The old HP system was fine the way it was. Even through Danziqmp(sp?)'s ideas on the other thread I still don't see how they couldn't have been applied to the old HP system. They just needed to separate the numbers so that when HP went down it didn't go down in your skill tab. That doesnt make sense. I would be just as amazed by an 830 now, as an 83 back then. (actually less because I recently got turmoil and extremes and I am hitting easily 740s myself, without special) A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! sohkmj1
It's just a matter of getting used to an extra digit. I can cope. I wouldn't mind having to remove the last digit if it means ever so slightly more experience per hour. Naming is terrible though. Constitution? Bleah. What a horrible name. I'm never going to use that term except via quickchat. Alternatively, if you hate the update, go play RSC. They haven't updated in years, so you should have no problem with the game whatsoever. The last digit does speed up combat, though not by more than 2% once you're at a decently high level. Also, it's just a number -- I'm used to it already. (Really, what amazed me is that this update went up with very few glitches -- I was sure that there'd be some way to get 10x experience or the SGS would heal insane amounts of prayer points or something -- very little was overlooked, which I applaud Jagex for.) A0z9
Yeah they're very annoying. Do you all still remember when they made some anti-rwt updates they were all ranting and rioting and rageing saying that it was unneccesary? And the hp bar and splat they were saying it was unneccesary and ruined their gameplay? But then they got used to it and calmed down. Remember? La Vallett1 A.k.a.
