On the contrare, the entire paradise is either burning or rotting at the moment. If Incabulos can stall that ritual, I'm pretty sure the battle is won.

 

The stronger your creatures are, the less numerous. I use this to my advantage by gaining a powerful unit and taking one from you every time one is infected. Really, you're the least capable person against me.

ross.. i have more favor than you.. i can get that ritual going again. and i can stop the burning and rotting. ive got a whole tribe of troops that can ko anything you do.

The troops advance towards their objective (if I find you people there this is going to get interesting)

EDIT: If the scathe are found then high priests shoot arcs of burning light at them and archers shoot flaming arrows. 400 favor is sacrificed for bonuses to the troops and the people at home pray for their safety.

 

The burning light forces the Scathe to disperse, not injuring many but delaying their attacks. The arrows happen to light more of the meadow, and the flames soar ever higher. This turns out to be the final straw.

The water elementals fail to put out the flames, especially when the flaming arrows set more of the meadow alight. The red dragon sacrifices itself, along with the souls of the oracle guards, and the ritual concludes.

 

The scientists attempt to make the bolt more arrow-like and add a more defined pit-line along the "barrel" of the balista.

 

The effort is mildly successful, and the design changes make the ballista more accurate.

The Scathe are somewhat dispersed by the burning light rays, and only manage to infect more of the paradise. Incabulos tries to disrupt the ritual but fails, their power is too strong.

Everyone:

 

A massive creature emerges out of the center of the Oracle, a conglomarate of various creatures. It has the tentacles of an octapus, flame breathing of the fire elemental, the powerful arms of a "titan", and the power to control much of the paradise, including the vines and the Earth's processes within.

 

It regrows much of the destroyed paradise, puts out the fire, and makes an impressive show of strength by closing all your armies into the paradise, rearranging all of the escape exits. It almost seems to have some of the divine powers of a god, and appears to be aggressive to all of you for the various actions you've taken.

Actually the only person who has a god powerful enough to set the ritual back on track is me (I also have enough favor to do so)

EDIT: A massive sacrifice of pronghorns is done and using the favor from that (as well as a day of organized worship) the high priests attempt to encapsulate the scathe in prisons of burning light .

Nephil Temple Guardians experiment with creating Skelatal Lizards, using the masses of sinew, bones and claws that are lying around don't nothing for anybody. The endevours are conducted with the aid of Anama.

 

Only one Skelatal Lizard is experimented with, just incase things start going wrong...and the fact that they are not really needed, they are just something to use up the massive surplus we are accruing

The Scathe attemp to return to their mountain and instead focus on blanketing the area in more toxic fog.

 

If that fails, they begin to concentrate their mass into a large blockade and blanket the paradise in poison gas.

It was going to be two turns, but fortunately, Grim had to set fire to more of the paradise, leading to the guardians sacrificing their souls to make the ritual go faster, summoning a super-guardian which has locked your various armies into the paradise and is now trying to kill you all. (Keep in mind you still have Scathes on the mountain)

i have other things! i dont really need to worry, as my army just consists of 5 elementals. might as well let it kill you while i try to reason with it.

My race is one large mass of decay. I cover a large chunk of a region and a well defended mountain coated in toxic gas.
