Well Grim and Retech already agreed to help with my bullet trains, so I think I could actually be a competitor in the bullet train race.

Well, I would have to agree with Ross's wonder argument. It's inherently flawed.

 

Personally, I think it would just be fairer to keep the current infrastructure and IAG system that we have and then allow people to research things and just abolish the wonder system.

Not especially, small countries just need to ally themselves to a large country....

Well, I agree that the richer and more powerful countries should be at an advantage.

And Archi, the thing is that it does not leave them a chance to strike out on their own. The large countries become more powerful since they can afford to build the wonders easily, and then they continue growing further and further away from the small countries in terms of power.

 

Since you already stated that the wonders only apply to the person that built them, allying yourself to a larger country will simply give you a minor amount of protection. It will not stop everything else from overtaking you.

Thats true, though small countries could negotiate their support in various projects in exchange for the mother countries support in other projects.

Well I won't publish any other wonders for a while, but what do you suggest, since alot of people have said that they want more ways to gain money, rather than just infrastructure...

Archi, what do you think of my idea of having a seperate thread for roleplaying, but the roleplaying actually effects the game?

Sounds good to me, but it should be an opt in thing and outcomes are my decision.

I really do not think that would be a good idea to mix roleplaying and hegemony (even with as good a mod as archi things would get hectic) also a single character would not make that much of a difference (though I will admit that a roleplay element would make negotiations with Npcs more interesting)

I think its a good idea, it actually allows the feel of leading, instead of just saying well we do this and that, it gets boring.

I think it would be good in moderation ie you can roleplay how your government works (if you are like me and use a democracy or want to roleplay as the glorious leader) or the mod could let off some steam roleplaying as a NPC country who you are negotiating with. However that is as far as I can see it going (ie no roleplaying as a super powerful soldier or whatever)

Archi, can you do the Algerian invasion soon?

Sorry Icu but I am switching my funding to doom (she made me an offer that I could not refuse) for the bullet train. Keep in mind however that there are other wonders out there than those listed and you could probably convince archi of an analogue of sorts.
