Big whoop, new disease will probably come soon.

Still destrtoying it, regardless if you had that under your belt, you'd be considered a war criminal.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Icu, I have not donated anything to the University yet, but I will donate when the decade is close to its end (I like spending at the end of decades to make sure I don't get dragged into wars with no money).

As for the bullet trains, I am simply helping out with them. I think that lowers the time a bit. Meanwhile, you can just say that you were involved with my project, to get my time reduced.

I'm pretty sure it is a pretty big whoop. Fortunately, I can cure nearly any disease in existence, given a few years. Once my next research is done anyway.

You said you donated a trillion to the uni I swear, mind if I put it in bullet trains? You keep your seat in the uni, I just really want these damn trains.

I will do it at the end of the decade, which is 8 years away.

Actually 7 as its past midnight.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I said I was going to put a trillion into the uni, but I didn't have the funds at the time to put it all in at once. I have to reduce it to 500 billion if that's alright with you, since this green revolution thing needs lots of boosting.

Well a trillion to the uni does nothing, so the only worth of it is putting it into bullet trains and still keeping your seat in the uni?

It will only take 2 years off.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

So, Icu, as it is you just lost a ton of funding for the university, and now have about 1.5t going to the Trains. I have the same going to the trains, and I can afford more.

Sere is still undecided, he could very well bump me right ahead.

This was meant to push me ahead, but Retech halved his donation :/

I can expect assistance on my green revolution wonder, correct? No money needed, just assistance.

Sure, I guess, if you get a spare 500 billion by next decade, I will trade for something.

Recruiting and training an additional 125,000 soliders from Thailand and Austraila. Should be done in 3 years time, giving me a (trained and supplied) army of 400,000.

Question: Since I annexed Thailand, I get half of their IAG/GPD from now on, right?

Anywho, budget for this year so far:

50% - Infrastructure

12.5% - Research on the battle station (1/15)

12.5% - Annexation of New Zealand ( 1/10 )

25% - Military recruiting/training (1/3)

Right, since this system pretty much forces me to get involved in a wonder, I suppose... No, wait.

I'm not done complaining yet. I'm just going to use myself as an example here, but it applies to countries such as Egypt, and, as much as I hate to say it, China as well now.

I am pretty much forced to start a wonder, or I will get left behind since nothing I could research could be as powerful as those listed (If I started a project which took 30 years alone and would make my infrasturcture grow at twice the normal rate, people would likely scream OP at me.) , and if I helped another country, I would not get the benefits.

Now, since the wonder costs so much, and since my budget is quite low, (The third lowest or something like that, but that is irrelevant.) starting a wonder would pretty much screw me financially until it's built. In fact, looking at the costs, it would put me in a huge amount of debt.

This means that I am left with three options.

The first is to ally myself with bigger countries for no real benefit other than them getting to decide whether they protect me or not , and help me with a wonder. (Since, let's be realistic, they have no real obligation to do so, since they are the more powerful country here). This option means that I cannot grow to surpass the country since it likely has a wonder and would not want to allow me to grow too powerful. (That applies to the other two options as well though)

Option two is to not ally myself with anyone and get steamrolled later on, since I don't have a wonder to help me grow since I couldn't afford it.

And Option three is to start building a wonder, destroying me financially unless I get donations from more powerful countries (Again, they have no real obligation to do so)

Now, none of these options seem very appealing to me, but there really is no other chance. The wonder system helps the rich and screws the poor by widening the gap between the two.

This system needed discussion and balancing before being implemented. There is still time to do so, before it becomes too far to reverse it without causing all sorts of problems.

Civ has a wonder limit. It's like 2 world wonders.

But they have a wonder which gives them huge bonuses to infrastructure, allowing them to have a bigger army and steamroll your army.

not to mention that training an army to prevent steamrolling by a nation which can afford a wonder will cost you a lot as it is.

Ross I have an idea for a wonder that would be very affordable for you and it is pre aproved by archi. I would prefer to use it for myself (granted it is a military wonder but still) however if you wish I can tell you over P.M.

Rocco, unless you spend your entire budget on infrastructure for somewhere in the region of 50 years, there is no way you can equal their budget if they have built one of the weaker wonders.

Hex, if I was going to research something which increased my infrastructure by 5, or even 2-3, on my budget, the people building wonders for several times the price will scream OP at me.

Grim, I'd much prefer if the system was revised, since it is poorly implemented. I'd be willing to listen to the idea though.

Maybe have some wonders that only people who make less then X amount for IAG can build? Something like that. Or some specialization wonders that are fairly cheap. I dunno.

A higher budget means they can train better troops, and more of them. Whichever way you look at this, if a country has a budget 10x yours (And the way things are heading, almost all of the top 5 will), and you are not Sun Tzu, you WILL lose.

Just saying, for the thing we're fighting over, the Bullet Trains, it will increase your budget by 5%, I think. The most any improvement can increase your IAG by is the one that increases it by 20%.
