Bosses got harder

I noticed bosses got higher level the higher my dung level.

EDIT: Also, i noticed my deflect curses rarely work, but I'm guessing they're supposed to be like that and it's not a bug, so I just use soul split most of the time.

I thought they got alot harder as well, but a friend informed me that it goes in waves.

Sometimes they are very hard, sometimes they are fairly easy.

Not sure if this is true, but thats what I was told. :P

I've noticed this too. I'm getting close to death very often now, even on stupid bosses like the Geomancer. I thought it was just a coincidence, but apparently it's not.

I guess it's only fair really, but if they're giving me a challenge in the 60s, I don't want to imagine what it's like in the 90s.

Geomancer is stupidly over-powered. at 112, i'm 119 and got slaughtered. <_<

I only fought him once, but I thought he was one of the easier bosses.

I have trouble with bloodchiller mostly for some reason..

Fought the hobgoblin boss and it was easy. But next wave, I managed to kill him with about 50 lp left. (Which btw earned me the "againts all odds" title  )

I seem to regularly die to the Geomancer once or twice. It just seems that no matter what ranging armour I make it shows little to no difference in deflecting his attacks. It also frustrates me when I've been to every room and no sign of a stat restore potion ingredient when I have the Unholy Cursebearer...

Yeah but every time you restore your stats, the boss gets healed.. :wall:

Your combat stats are alot better than mine and I find the Geomancer to be a complete pushover.

No matter what dungeon I will always be wearing melee armour, no different in this case. What I do is turn on deflect mage and start slashing away at it. The Geomancer dies so fast that my drained stats hardly make a difference. Lowest point where my stat was drained was to level 50+ and that was the first time I battled it.

Having higher stats, an easier dungeneering boss does not make.

Yeah, sometimes bringing more teammates actually cranks up their levels a bit too high and suddenly Astea has ridiculous defense against melee for no reason. (Yes even without protect melee)

Course that's why you split the combat triangle up so that doesn't screw you over.

I'm guessing when you solo, no matter what attack style you use, all the bosses are easy.

I heard the Rammernaut has extremely high melee defence though...

He's so weak to crush though :) I tried maging him and it was a lot harder than meleeing.

Oh really? Didn't know that. :o

Guess I shall demolish him with my PICKAXE POWER!!! :P (If I reach the requirement that is.)

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

There is absolutely no way Rammernaut is weak to crush. I duo with a friend, and we're combats 131 and 137, both using Promethium Mauls, and we regularly have problems with him. We often find ourselves either running out of food and barely killing him, or actually do end up dying.

Between the constant stuns and lack of hits on our part, it's an extremely frustrating fight...

You should really mage him.

I tend to melee almost every single boss, and I usually don't die - so long as I go in with a full invy of good food (salve eels and higher), and any potions I can make beforehand (strong melee and defence potions, usually). Only time I pull out a bow and use my gorg arrows is for Astea.

General strategy for me is to go in praying deflect magic and leech defence - considering I'm wearing melee armor, this usually covers me fairly well.

Only bosses I've died on so far (in solo attempts) are the Skeletal Horde and... oh yeah, Night Gazer or whatever it's called - the eyeball with the stomp attack, anyway. I didn't know what I was doing then, though - took me a while to notice the burners in the corners... >.<

I've had some close calls with bosses, though - running out of food and killing them with about 200 lp left happens on occasion, although that mostly happens due to extremely stingy fishing spots and monster drops.

I will admit, though.. the bosses seem to be getting harder and harder, even on solo attempts. Which is a good thing for me, I enjoy a challenge, although not an overpoweringly impossible one, like I seem to encounter every time I try teaming up with anyone - deaths are really, really common for me in teams of trio or higher, probably attributed towards how slow I move sometimes.

As for exploiting melee weaknesses, I usually don't remember them offhand, so I just hit with each style a few times at the start, see which one hits more, and go with that.
