November 20, 200520 yr My friend jsut told me on rs that pokemon has subliminal messages in them that effect people below the age of 9 and sometimes up if htye had poor education he had to go off b4 he could gimme the name of the site but this does make sense while being far fetched but still it does explain why people in their 30s are addicted to pokemon (ive seen them in real life!) what are your thoughts on this Proud Acolyte of the Ooc Cmon Steve you can do it!
November 20, 200520 yr If the messages only effect people younger than nine, and Pokemon has only been around for a few years, then how can they be responsible for the addiction of thirty-year-old gamers? I could just as easily claim that Runescape has subliminal messages, since so many people play it constantly and appear to be addicted to it. Why can't people just accept the fact that some kids and even some adults enjoy the game? "In so far as I am Man I am the chief of creatures. In so far as I am a man I am the chief of sinners." - G.K. Chesterton
November 20, 200520 yr Author by 30 and plus i mean those guys that were alreayd 30 and watched the show not watche d ti for 30 years Proud Acolyte of the Ooc Cmon Steve you can do it!
November 20, 200520 yr Yes.. Astraline's point was that if said subliminal messaging affected people only younger than 9, and the show hasn't been around for 20 years, how can people who are 30+ be or have been affected by said subliminals? Maybe people are addicted to the game because it's good, and the show because it entertains them..
November 20, 200520 yr Well its not so much as those messages are hidden. I mean, what would you do if do if you really liked a game that has a catch praise called "Gotta catch em all!"? Nintendo really just had a very VERY good marketing plan for Pokemon. [/b] The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.

You can't accuse something of having subliminal messages and not even give an example...

November 20, 200520 yr ill have a look into it (im bored aswell, yay work tomorrow) but i think it is just marketing. when the anime series first aired (japan?) i heard a rumor that it made a whole lot of little kids have epileptic seizures, something to do with flashing lights (obviously) so if they can still have a large following in spite of that, damnit good marketing... none the less, still a rumor
November 20, 200520 yr The phrase "gotta catch em all" played backwards fast says "i love satan" Pixel sigs by me.Pixel Art

November 20, 200520 yr U keep making topics, some of them have got maybe a little useful info, but most of them are dumb. Think before u hit the ' submit new topic button ' and ONLY post topics if you want to tell something important / an achievement etc. If everybody would make a topic when they are boared, it would be a mess. Thanks
November 20, 200520 yr i thought everyone already did, thats more or less what i see talking about achievments as. oh btw Japisee, thats creepy [cabbage]. i already knew about the starway to heaven one though
November 20, 200520 yr I think Pokemon is just entertaining. No subliminal messages at all. Seems like Nintendo also has a good marketing department. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.

While I dont really believe the subliminal messages junk the seizure thing actually happened. What happened is on pokemon the t.v. show, during there now infamous "porigon" episode (it was the 3d pokemon in the game... the one you bought at that gambling place if you remember heh), there was a butt load of flashing lights to simulate porigon's 3dness. The result of which caused seizures in 700+ Japanese children.

Then there is this blue flashing light. Then those kids....This episode is of course....banned. ---------------------------------- Some people thinks Smurfs have sunliminal message too....So why not Pokemon? huh? Gees perhaps those 30 years old find pokemon a great RPG game and fun to play.
November 20, 200520 yr I watched the flashing lights episode, and it was totally lame. I dont understand how it could result in a seizure. I actually kinda missed the flashing lights the first time, and had to watch it TWICE to see the lights. :x For more info: http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/seizure.htm ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
November 20, 200520 yr If anyone had proof that it had subliminal messages in it then the game would no longer be on the shelves.
