~90k fletching xp an hour - should I be faster?

Featured Replies

Hey,

I'm going for my second 99 - fletching! I'm 75 atm, making yew longs. Where am I going wrong with XP rates? I thought it was meant to be the fastest xp in the game but cooking was quicker and so is FM (which will probably be 99 #3). It takes me about a minute to cut 27 yews and bank. This is ~120k xp an hour and stringing is around 80-100k an hour depending on how click focused I am (clan chats can be very distracting!) but many people I've spoken to say they do 150k an hour. It doesn't matter too much but I'd like to know if there's something obvious I'm missing.

Also, I'm undecided as to what my next couple of 99s will be - any tips, thoughts or advice? I'm prepared to spend up to about 15m on it and I play 7-20 hours a week (very variable) so something like runecrafting would probably never get done. My advent log is public and my RSN is also kodaxor.

Cheers everyone!

Making bolts or darts is the fastest xp in fletching, but fletching is NEVER the fastest xp in the game.

If you string Yew longbows, you should be getting around 150k xp an hour

I actually just strung load of 9k yew longbows and it averaged at around 140K/h, with distractions.

Stringing is for slightly more speed and less loss per bow, but cutting is better for lower level of attention required.

From 70-99, i bought yew long (u) and strung them all the way to 99, with public off at the Grand Exchange rofl. Did some profit, and great exp/hr rate !

I think I must be really bad at maths... Or be too tired :wall:

I've just timed and I'm getting about 2-3k xp a minute, so around the xp rates you guys posted. Cheers!

And any thoughts about next 99?

I fletched yew longbows (u) from 76-90 fletching so I could AFK and play video games lol. I got the same xp/hour as mentioned in grimy's spreadsheets. Apparently using clay tools would've made it more efficient, but oh well it was cheap as hell

Next 99...

Something you love, or will benefit from. Things that come to mind for me are smithing, herby, prayer, construction, or dungeoneering.

Drops: Black Mask.

Clue rewards: Sara Plate, 2 Robins, Some other random stuff.

I string Magics because I like to get stuff done fast.

Always string, never do both!

thanks... but like I said I have up to 15M so herby prayer and construction are out of the question. Same with smithing (unless I mine the gold but I'm cb 74 so no living rock caverns!)

I've decided the following are feasable:

fm

wc

fish

agility

thieving

magic

hunter

I'll probably do fm then wc then either magic or agility.

Sorry to troll, but I don't understand you at all. You really *like* gaining 99 cooking, fletching, firemaking and woodcutting in a row? Seems pretty damn boring to me honestly.

But yeah, you are doing something wrong. It should be 150k an hour stringing.

What a troll. You are an idiot bedman. Period.

Did you know half the worlds population is below average intelligence?

Many people think we are getting smarter as a whole, but we are UNIVERSALLY getting dumber and dumber at an alarmingly fast rate.

Metaphorically.... the human race is on its way to hell in a hand-basket made of dry wicker.

Just about anything on rs can be considered boring. Nothing wrong with setting goals and achieving them.

Disregard females.

If he enjoys it, hey. More power to him.

Hmm, i would aim for something like fishing, agility, thieving, or magic. They're the more respected 99 capes then firemaking/cooking/fletching. But go for what ever you enjoy the most ^.^

Fishing is nice to get while watching movies in LRC, while still looking a bit at your character. Some profit too, and nice chats in LRC w84 (I think it's 84.,.) if you like to discuss a bit.

With about 100M to spend, you could get 99 mage/smith by superheating gold, 120k in each skill per hour or so.
