So, I think Arch's instant ship killing lasers should be removed, considering we are playing MEDIEVAL hegemony. There's plenty of normal hegemony threads for that sort of sillines.

They aren't lasers. Basically there was a loud thunderous noise and then seconds later, the ship was crippled and sank. You could say that the invention was closer to Archimedes than Albert Nobel. :thumbup:

 

 

If there are any survivors from a combat with said weapons, then you will get a much clearer description.

And yet it's already been proved that Archimedes silly death ray thing would never really work, and certainly wouldn't instantly evaporate a ship meant to put out fires (and thus has plenty of water in it).

Because it doesn't matter what it was. If something can simply evaporate a full sized naval vessel in the blink of an eye then it's obviously overpowered and unrealistic for the medieval (you know, the one where people fought with swords and rode around on horses and had [cabbage]ty mud/thatch roofs?) era.
