And I could simply assassinate your country's leaders and firebomb the military installations.

That is, if I planned on this becoming total war.

I have allies, ICU, I suggest you tread carefully so as to avoid WW1/2.

Don't get all high any mighty, and don't rely on allies.

Anyway, when can we expect an update I have to go soon.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

High and mighty? It's strategic diplomacy, ICU.

So, basically, perfect observation.

EDIT: No, you don't need to remind me Grim. I assure you, I am prepared. :)

Sorry, it's a biggy. Not sure if I can get it done within the hour, since I have to do a lot of other non-computer things.

You'll have to pass the med to get there. I don't think Dusty likes me but I know he doesn't like people in his med, cause you know... You being a muslim and all.

Plus the earlier agreement was this doesn't turn into an actual war between me n Nex, it is only Brudges.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I shall not assist Icu offensively, but if he is attacked then I shall proceed in all haste to help with the defense, as he is to be a valuable trading partner in the near future.

I think I know the weakness of your Hlaupari. If they get bogged down or lose their momentum, they don't have much armour and are severely lacking in the defensive sector. I reckon that if they ran out of steam they would more or less be sitting ducks.

That, and the fact that they rely on ambush, I suppose.

Again, I shall only join the war if Icu is attacked.

I've already got a small report on how they work, cause everytime I survive a battle I aways ask for a report on anything that wasn't said. Like if a new enemy appears I ask for how they work.

What are hlaupari anyway?

The fast, strategically intelligent, and adaptable Icelandic special unit. Varying arnament including chain weaponry that has the potential to decimate both cavalry and spearmen, semi-automatic crossbows that can punch through heavier armour, and napalm-like firebombs that stick to and burn anything they touch. They also wear light armour and have some of the fastest horses in any European military.

Ross, Grim, I intend to keep this conflict between ICU and myself only. And in the event that Bruges decides to invade France immediately, I will attempt to discourage them and, at most, have the Hlaupari assist them outside of direct combat.

EDIT: Earth, I didn't know either way. But the easiest way to transport troops is by water, and Retech has stated that voyages within Europe require no paid vessels.

Note that transport within Europe without boats is free, but if it is attacked, then it basically automatically sinks.

Not really suitable for war time.

The European Conflict - Prelude

The war that had begun as a struggle for independance by the city-state of Bruges has become a full scale war. Notably, the island nations of England and Iceland have pledged their support for Bruges, while the French and the Bulgarians seek the crush the city-state beneath their war machines. The war, which started merely as a posturing match between the European powers, soon erupted into a war which spanned half of Europe.

The European Conflict - Belgium Theater - Assualt on Groeninge Hill (English Encampment)

The battle began with the splattering of French pitch on the English camp, launched in barrels from trebuchets. However, the French trebuchets had trouble aiming precisely at the English camp, as it was mostly obscured. The few barrels they managed to launch landed somewhere on the English hill, though the French general could not see precisely where.

The Bulgarian forces quickly surrounded the hill and began advancing up the steep slopes, which were covered in mud after a recent torrential rainstorm. 3500 Queen's guardsmen and five thousand men at arms advanced on two opposite sides of the hill, while more Bulgarians assualted the other two sides. The Bulgarian heavy horse archers fared poorly in the muddy goop and could not climb up the hill. Meanwhile the Bulgarian force marching up the eastern side of the hill closest to the river was forced to move with the force moving up the southern side, as the pitch launched from the French trebuchets barred their access. As Bulgarian forces continued to wheel around trying to soften up the English with their ranged weapons, the English longbows inflicted huge casualties on the Bulgarians.

Finally the Bulgarian commander ordered his forces to dismount and march up the hill by foot. The mud began caking in their armor, causing some of the joints to gum up with mud. Eventually the Bulgarians made it to the top, where they were assailed by the English knights, who had been waiting eagerly for their moment of battle. Despite the numerical superiority of the Bulgarians, they were pushed back by the English knights and forced to retreat. The English longbowmen moved back to the front of their lines and began taking down the fleeing Bulgarians with arrows in their backs. The Queen's guardsmen proved ineffective against the superior English longbowmen in ranged combat.

Casualties

English

-From Trebuchets

600 English Knights

200 English Longbowmen

-From Bulgarians

1700 English Knights

800 English Longbowmen

Bulgarians

7800 Men at Arms

4300 Queen's Guardsmen

2500 Short Ranged Myrmidons

1000 Knights

300 Knights of Saint Dimitrius

4400 French Blood Knights set up a cunning ambush, pretending to gather water from the nearby river. Four thousand Icelanding Hlaupari took the bait, charging in with their heavy weapons. The muddy riverbank slowed their horses, and the French blood knights came upon them. However, the Hlaupari managed to escape before they were completely destroyed. The remaining Hlaupari took out their crossbows and began shooting the blood knights, who tried to form a shield wall to resist the bolts. Eventually the Hlaupari ran out of bolts, and both sides withdrew.

Casualties:

1600 Blood Knights

2300 Hlaupari

The French commander decided to wait for further instructions, as none of the plans could've been called a complete success.

Massive victory overall, but I guess I the terrain just wasn't to my advantage. It's annoying that they fell for that, but everyone makes blunders.

Nice ambush, ICU. Time for new Hlaupari protocol.

Heard of the Atlantic or the middle-east? There's more than one way to pass the Mediteranian

Your solution to not using the Mediterranean is to use the Atlantic (which would mean you'd need to use the Mediterranean), or march your army all the way through the Middle East, across Byzantium, through Bulgaria and Italy, and then finally to France.

But tbh, you can use the Mediterranean, because its funny seeing France getting pummeled. I have no qualm with letting heathens kill heretics.

Basically, they're slow, meandering troops that are laden down with an assortment of weaponry and armour that means that they get tired easily.

The original plan was to have Bulgarian troops jump out as well but they seemingly weren't there, no bother though, nice to see that the 2-1 KDR is gone though. LOL

Not according to Retech, Dusty. :D

I think that each one only has a certain arnament, but Retech doesn't divide them into different classifications so as to avoid confusion.
