Searched and there wasn't a topic for this. This game is due out on November 16.

That has most of the information at this time.

There is also a limited edition

This is the first game in the series to have a multiplayer.

Assasin's Creed. The most overrated game series of all time.

Seriously, what is the attraction? I was drawn in by the cool looks and found the high point was jumping around. :-|

Woohoo! Awesome!

So looking forward to it. Multiplayer should be interesting.

Now the game is about cliche "let's [bleep] over the church-Da Vinci Code style" and warrior combat. I don't want to fight out in the open with plate armor and swords. ASSASSIN's creeds the game is called, right?

I'm really disappointed by Brotherhood, it seems like a quick cash in. I'll wait for another proper Assassin's creed game to come out before I drop any cash on this series.

It looks like a sequel to AC2...

I never played the original, but I loved the second one so I'll definitely get this when it comes out.

Not only that, it appears they improved the engine a good bit, many new mechanics introduced, more types of outfits (other then the Assassin Robes), and they upgraded the villa feature greatly, and apparently you can customize all of Rome now.

There's an article in this month's OXM, I'll see if I can find it... if not I'll just post what is in the mag.

Yepp. You can upgrade the entire city of rome now. They did say this game is NOT AC3. In AC3, there will be a new ancestor, as this is just a continuation of Ezio's story. I personally am about to preorder it, because you get a new online character if you do.

I think you get two characters don't you?

Crap forgot about this thread lol... well the links in OP are tl;dr, so I'll just post what the mag has...

[hide]There will be 8 characters for multiplayer, while only 4 have been revealed so far. There will be many AI models of these characters in the multiplayer game, so you really have to track down the other player to get him/her.

Different characters will have different weapons, EG the Nobleman will have a claw, Executioner will have an axe, Monk will have a dagger, Doctor will have syringes, and Courtesans will have a bladed fan (OOH FUN!).

In the mutliplayer game "Hunter", you spawn on the move, with a simple compass and distance meter shows where your target is, with a counter that shows how many assassins are after you. It will always be at least one. It increases depending on how good you are.

You are awarded points for successfully killing a target, a few for managing an escape, and are deducted for the "professional faux pas" of killing an innocent. That last bit can be hard to avoid, since the AI is... "purposefully broken" in a way. They will do this like randomly start sprinting, only to stop a short distance later, or turn a corner and then turn right back.

Escape is made easier with "chase breakers", which can delay people chasing you. Gates slam shut behind you, buttresses snap off, and platforms crash to the ground. Once you have escaped, you can do the old "hide in the hay until nobody sees you" trick, or sitting on a bench.

However, each character will have their own ability, such as assuming another disguise, transform all characters around you to match yours, or scare an identical person into running away so they will draw attention for you.

Fun-fact: The mutliplayer "lobby" is that Templar lab Lucy and Desmond ran through, where Templars learn the tricks of the Assassins.

Some single player stuff:

Since you don't have your upgradable home villa anymore, yes, you will get to improve all of rome.

You get to use horses in the city.

Ezio is now the Master Assassin, leading the Assassins guild.

Rodrigo Borgia is back, along with his son and daughter Cesare and Lucrezia (respectively), along with Lonardo Da vinci (who has an upgraded flying machine WOOT), and Machiavelli.

There will be an "improved" fighting system, where attacks can be chained together to take out multiple enemies. If you start a combo, you go into a rage mode that will link together insta-kills until an enemy interrupts you. Guards will now actually confront you, instead of just staring you down first, so be careful there.

It looks like we will FINALLY be able to use the crossbow.[/hide]

Well that's all I can get. From the pictures it looks pretty cool.

Lots of information, thank you for that. This game just sounds cooler and cooler. Hopefully they make the other game modes this well thought out and different.

I saw a preorder commercial for gamestop and you get the joker looking guy, and one for best buy and for best buy you get another guy. I think it's misleading, but I think you would get both characters if you preorder.

I remember reading somewhere that you get some Officer guy or something like that as a pre-order bonus. Not sure where I read that, and I could be wrong, but you never know.

  • 3 weeks later...

I can't see multiplayer being anything too great, but I did love the second one.... the first one a bit less.

Well they started working on the multiplayer when they were just finishing up ac2 according to some of the videos I've watched.

Apparently there will be more than 8 characters, because the producers of acb said there is only 8 characters in this demo. Which means there is more. I also posted on the official forums of acb and I asked about the pre order question. You only get the character that the specific store is offering. So I will only get the officer because I preordered at bestbuy. The only way to get all the characters would be to preorder the limited edition codex page game. Which doesn't seem like it is available in the USA? I was looking around their forums, but no answers.

Got this for Christmas, such a good game.

Would've been better if finding a match online didn't take forever.

Bit harsh, don't you think? That's more so due to the ubisoft servers then the actual game. Aside from the occasional glitch there isn't really much gripes to be had.

----

Just reached level 41 tonight, getting 1000+ point kills are so much fun.
