I stopped using W60 as my home world because of the penguin hunters.

Otherwise, I don't find it too bad to answer a few questions or help with something quick, but it can definitely get annoying at times. Fortunately, we can now direct these people to RSWiki or Tip.It, for all the good that will do anyway. A bit better than telling them to STFU I should say at least.

Some people have specific situations with the same general topic and it would ultimately be better for them to post their own thread to receive answers tailored to their needs.

Belive it or not, some people don't know about sites like tip.it or rs wikia. Hell the first month or so I used the knowledge base(which tends to give incomplete information) to figure out stuff.

People also assume others are kind enough to stop and answer a newb's question every now and then.

Just tell them "you shouldn't even be asking questions if you're on the internet."

I have never asked a single question about runescape from anyone inside the game. When I had started, I learned about the stuff I wanted to know from the game itself. And i didnt even know about fan sites like Tip.it.

 

I do help people when I have time, which I have almost always. But if they start asking obvious or stupid questions, I tell them to look it up from fan site or knowledge base.

Oh god YES! I have noticed the exact same thing, more and more (especially new) players ask questions about things they could have solved by spending 5 seconds in google. When I was new to runescape I found it much more interesting to look up a guide to do things rather than annoy hell out of people by asking stupid questions. I understand that some questions are reasonable like "where do I find the world map" or something like that but questions like "how long is it gunna take me to get 30-80str on rock crabs?? plz tell me!" just make me facedesk. Maybe I have became more cynical over the years but people who cba to do any work by themselves just pisses me off.

Guides arent always the best, and lots of guides consider nothing but pure efficiency, not how fun it is, not how much it costs, etc.
